This may be a little off topic, but I have a friend that uses chicken/beef powder to give flavor to "meatless" meals during lent. She figures there is not enough meat in it to count, but I disagree. Any comments?

If it contains any dehydrated broth it should not be used, if it is artificial--containing no meat product at all, then it would be fine. You are correct.
