No, it doesn't. Dietary fats cause insulin resistance because it smothers insulin receptors. Sugar increases insulin sensitivity which means less insulin is needed to do its job. Watch this 3 minute video of doctors explaining it:

Sugar is obvious but only trans fats are bad and the anti salt campaign has been debunked by Dr Ken berry et al

You obviously haven't exercised at a high-level in quite a while.  I don't need to read research papers; I use my own experience and that of friends who are athletes (and who get advice from trainers).  Most research is crap because it's govt-funded and biased towards an end-conclusion.
