Flu Shots

Maybe doctors in your area are different but, in my neck of the woods, when it comes to flu/pneumonia vaccines, they do not like "no" for an answer

Do you think they are safe for seniors?  My husband's doctor is very pushy.  I told him "no" and he immediately shot back "why not?"  When I asked him to not put pressure, he claimed he wasn't.  If that was so, he would have respected our decision to not get the shots.

Anyone else have any experience with doctors like this?

Alexandria, yes. Every time I attend the GP I get asked the same question and they never take a simple refusal at face value. They must dig deeper. They need to know why I refuse.

This not only happens with the GP, but with almost all health "professionals" like physiotherapist, nurse etc etc.

Orders are from on high, and there are perks involved.

Yes, here in the USA, it is the same routine.
Blood pressure. check
Lab results. check
Are you taking your Statin prescription faithfully? No? Why?
Up to date on vaccinations?  No? Why?

It is like the medical profession earns Boy Scout badges for each and every vaccination given.
And if the doctor suspects that you fear the needle, then he can always prescribe a Xanax pill for anxiety.
And perhaps Big Pharma gives him a bonus for each Xanax, Statin, and/or calcium channel blocking prescription filled or refilled.
