  • Eew, aluminum?  I use baking soda almost every day.  I hope the good stuff doesn't cost $10 a box.

Baking soda baths are really good, too.  If you are too sick to hold anything down, but getting dangerously dehydrated, a good hot baking soda or epsom salt bath will do wonders.  The skin will is our largest organ.

  • I have a friend who would always tell me to drink baking soda with water when I wasn't feeling well - whether it was a sore throat, cold, stomach upset, etc... I always made fun of him because, whatever the illness, he would say to use baking soda. I guess now I'll take the baking soda remedy he keeps pushing more seriously.

  • Baking -powder- has aluminum in it, not baking -soda-. Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate.
    Matthew 5:37

Baking soda works to neutralise acid or ph balance, which is said to be the cause of many illnesses.  It stops allergic reactions, like bee stings and jellyfish or fire coral stings, nettles, spiderbites.  When we soak in the bath, our skin takes in and flushes out.

Epsom salts work by osmosis; they draw out toxins and relieve the pain, and can be taken orally for a laxitive.  I don't really know how they work so well, maybe it's the magnesium which is said to be really important but lacking in our food these days?

Well, it's worth trying. Can't hurt any, right? Thanks for the reply.
