  • There is a history of heart problems in my family, and I think I inherited them. There was many times where I got chest pains and twitches in my left arm, and I got an ECG and saw a doctor, but the ECG said that there was no problem, and the doctor said it was the muscle and not my heart that was the trouble. Every now and then I get heart trouble, and with my familys history I am extra careful. does anyone have any similar stories.

  • .

Everyone who I've known who has had serious heart conditions
have been unwilling to talk about it.  I have heard several doctors
tell me that heart patients are notorious for pretending that they
do not have any heart trouble, "Everything's fine."

The one exception to these doctors was a medical doctor who
didn't want to talk about heart problems himself, and he died of
    heart failure.

He couldn't even discuss it with his wife because she was suffering
from an anxiety syndrome, and the discussion of his heart
problems would have made her upset, and her increased anxiety
would have made his heart problems WORSE.

  • I went in for quadruple bypass this past 4th of July. No numbness or anything like that - just some strange headaches for about a month or two prior and finally I just was feeling like a weight was on my chest for a few minutes - I went into emergency and they told me I had clogs in my arteries and would need bypass surgery.

They told me I had a very mild heart attack but they were not sure when it occurred, - they guessed it happened probably the day I came into emergency. They said I had three blockages that were 100% blocked and one that was 99% blocked. Don't ask me how you can have 100% blockage on three and 99% blockage on one and only have a mild heart attack because I don't know.

With the history of heart problems in my family, the doctors told me it wouldn't have mattered if I was an Olympic swimmer, I still would have needed the surgery sooner or later.

Not sure what you want to know but in a nutshell, some drop dead on the spot, others can last a very long time with heart problems - I was lucky.

  • One of my more distant relatives (3rd cousin by marriage, I think is the correct terminology), has a history of heart problems in his family.  More specifically, very high cholesterol.  He is by no means a small individual, but he is not obese.  Nevertheless, he has been required to take a large amount of medication ever since he was in his 30s, and required triple bypass in his 40s.  Because he was aware of this problem, and had it monitored regularly, he never had a heart attack.

Of his four children, two are beginning to exhibit this same problem, while the other two are not.

  • I had a heart attack when I was 49 years old and now I'm 67. I never had any chest pain even at the time of the heart attack, but I did feel very off-colour and was unable to swallow even liquid and, while in hospital, somebody brought me some strawberries and I couldn't even finish one strawberry.

I was kept in hospital for 11 days with bedrest, medication and some gradual exercise to get me back on my feet. I have always been on medication except for the time I decided enough is enough, and I got very breathless and unable to walk without having to stop and sit down. So back on the meds, which I am now resigned to.

I had no indications and no family history, was not overweight, ate well. I do believe these things can be psychosomatic, not in the sense of "it's all in the head" but in the sense that worry, stress and tightly bottled emotions, have a physical effect on us. In which case it is no wonder that heart problems are so prevalent today.

Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • Comes down to diet and lifestyle.

Cold pressed virgin coconut oil , extra virgin olive oil, grapeseed oil are all great alternatives to GMO Canola and Soyabean oil.

Burn as many calories as you eat so stay active.

reduce your meat and increase your vegis and water is an excellent detoxifiyer so drink a lot of it.

Some of the above mentioned oils actually reduce cholesterol.

Eat more raw vegis as they have more oxygen which is beneficial to your health.

If you cooked it you killed it other than meat and tomatoes.

Just off the top of my head if I think of anything else I will post it.

  • Well, one can mistake chest muscle pains for heart pain. Try rubbing your chest muscles or your arm when you're bothered and seeing if you can feel the muscle and the pain goes away.

  • I went into the local GP today and he said that it was anxiety.
He gave me a letter to bring to a hospital to get blood tests done, and I will try to go there sometime this week, if I figure out how to get there.

I get pains in my heart, which also extend to my left shoulder, then the pain in my shoulder goes away, and a minute later my other shoulder pains me. It happens after physical activity or smoking electric cigarettes.
Now my heart area just feels extra sensitive. I admit I do worry about it, but then that probably makes it worse.

  • Alcohol in moderate amounts is good for the heart & circulation, my favourites are Sobieski & Monopolowa Polish vodka. Gilbey's Gin is also quite good.

  • Dear soulguard,

Sorry to hear about this and I will pray for you.

It is always best to accept God's will, but if you want to be cured for certain:-

Devotion to the Wound on Our Lord’s Shoulder

Our Lord said to Marie-Julie Jahenny:
“I am looking for souls who love Me to sympathize with My sufferings.”

It is related in the annals of Clairvaux that St. Bernard asked Our Lord which was His greatest unrecorded suffering, and Our Lord answered:

“I had on My Shoulders, while I bore My Cross on the Way of Sorrow, a grievous Wound, which was more painful than the others, and which is not recorded by men. Honour this Wound with thy devotion, and I will grant thee whatsoever thou doest ask through its virtue and merit, and in regard to all those who shall venerate this Wound, I will remit to them all their venial sins, and will no longer remember their mortal sins.”

Our Lord said much more to Marie-Julie about this devotion.

“Oh! Consider how I suffered this Wound so deep and little known. I desire that the faithful come to rest their lips on My Wound, that the breath (sighs) of their hearts soften My Wound.” (March 29, 1878)

Our Lord showed Marie-Julie this Wound and revealed It’s depth to her:

“The pain is incomprehensible in the hearts of My children!!! How this devotion pleases and console Me, how often have the prayers of these Wounds have risen to My Heart and have torn (open) the salvation of souls entrusted to Hell.” (May 17, 1878)

Our Lord revealed to Marie-Julie additional promises that would be granted to those who venerate His Wound of the Shoulder and spread the devotion:

    1) “I will bless all the souls who propagate this devotion: I grant them abundant graces.” (March 29, 1878)

    2) “O souls who love Me, who propagate this devotion, I take you under My protection, I keep you under the mantle of My affection.” (March 29, 1878)

    3) “I will dispel the darkness that will come in their hearts.” (December 28, 1877)

    4) “I will console them in their pains.” “I will come in the midst of their greatest afflictions, to enlighten, to comfort them.” (February 8, 1878) (December 28, 1877, February 8, and April 12, 1878)

    5) “I will come to bless them in their undertakings.” (March 29, 1878)

    6) “I will give them a tender love for the Cross. I will come to assist them at the time of death with this cross and I will introduce them into My Heavenly Kingdom.” (April, 12 1878)

    7) “I will sweeten their agony.” (December 28, 1877) “I will come at the hour of death. I will console them in their passage.” (February 8, 1878) “Especially at the hour of death, I will come to give them a sweet moment of calm and tranquillity. I will tell them: ‘O good holy soul, who has spread this devotion that I had so much at heart that it be made known, come to receive the reward of your labours, the fruit of blessing.” (March 29, 1878)

“I will shelter them, I will assist them, I will console all the souls that seek to propagate this Sacred Wound. At the time of death, I will console the souls that have compensated Me by their devotion and compassion to the Wound so deep and painful. I will come to strengthen them in their final fears. I will come and prepare their passage: Thank you, you who have compensated Me for My Pains.” (May 17, 1878)

    9) “See,” Jesus said, pointing to His Wound with extreme tenderness, “all My children who have recognized this Wound, who have venerated It, have prayed to It, will have on the Last Day a great and generous reward. I do not simply show it, I pronounce it. My Word is Divine.” (May 1878)

(Note promise number 2, Our Lord said, “O souls who love Me,”. We must remember that those who love Him keep His commandments.)

Meditations we should reflect on while venerating the Holy Wound on His Shoulder:

    1) The infinite generosity of Our Lord Jesus Christ for having willingly taken upon Himself our iniquities. (March 29, 1878)
    2) His immense goodness in promising to carry our thankless sins on the road to Calvary. (December 28, 1878) He was overwhelmed, even to succuмbing to the painful falls on the Way of the Cross. (February 8, 1878)
    3) Marie-Julie: “Lord, it is our sins that You carry n this bloody and bruised Shoulder. It is our sins that make you suffer great incomprehensible pains as large as the sea. They are our sins that tore Your Sacred Flesh, which turned the Cross crimson.”
    4) The infinite tenderness with which Our Lord Jesus Christ suffered this cruel Wound, which shows how heavy are our iniquities. Sympathize with this immense pain, so little known on earth. (December 28, 1877)
    5) Our Lord invites us to contemplate the Wound so deep and painful, in which we have all participated. Ask for repentance and tears, gratitude and love. (February 8, 1878) It is there that our sins were drowned.

Marie-Julie: “When I see the blood that bathes the Cross, when I see it driven into this Wound, ah! Enormous weight of the Cross, how you make our Redeemer suffer! I can still see the Blood of my Divine king, marked on the paving stones of Jerusalem. Who would dare complain after such a love of Jesus crucified!” (May 17, 1878)

A Prayer to the Wound in Christ’s Shoulder
(Not given to Marie-Julie, but granted an Imprimatur: Thomas M. O’Leary, March 3, 1929. Bishop of Springfield 1949)

“O most loving Jesus, meek lamb of God, I, a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Thy Shoulder on which Thou didst bear Thy heavy Cross, which so tore Thy Flesh and laid bare Thy bones as to inflict on Thee an anguish greater than any other Wound of Thy most Blessed body. I adore Thee O Jesus most sorrowful; I praise and glorify Thee, and give Thee thanks for this most sacred and Painful Wound, beseeching Thee by that exceeding Pain and by the crushing burden of Thy heavy Cross, to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venial sins and to lead me on towards Heaven along the Way of Thy Cross. Amen.”

    God bless.

It is too simplistic to say it comes down to diet and lifestyle, Coptic Cruiser.
My diet and lifestyle resembled what you describe but I still had a heart attack. The heart is the seat of love, the emotions and the spiritual life. Heartbreak, heartache, heartsick, courage, hardheartedness, all oft hese words and others I can't think of right know show that. The Gospels are full of the heart eg loved with the whole heart, pondering them in her heart.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were anxiety, Soulguard, but that doesn't mean anxiety does not effect your heart. You've shared a bit with us and it's plain to see you are an intense young man. Pain is a warning that things are not right. Be assured of our prayers that this will pass and that you will grow through it.
