  • Well, I switched to electronic cigarettes.  So far so good, I can already tell a difference with little or no withdrawl.  The only downside is that I've been toking on this for about a half hour, which I wouldn't do with a regular cigarette.

Does it have nicotine? I eventually need to quit aswell. At the very least I need to cut back, I have been stressed lately and have noticed I went from a half-pack a day to almost a pack.

How much does it cost? Also let me know if it works for you. Thanks, and best of luck to you my friend.

  • If you haven't heard of this, the Natural American Spirit smokes have no additives, meaning 599 less chemical additives than a regular cigarette, and 4,000 less chemicals emitted from the smoke from said regular cigarette. (On the package, it says, "No additives does NOT mean a safer cigarette." 'Scuse me, but my arse it doesn't.)

If there are less chemicals in something, it sure as heck DOES mean a safer cigarette.

  • Never liked cigarette smoke. I've always found pipe tobacco and cigars more appealing to my nose.

  • These are bad, do NOT use them. I do not smoke anyways, and figured I would try them just cause I saw someone I know use them and it looked "cool".

I had the popular 'blu cig' for a month, returned them, but ended up with a staph infection (first ever). I truly believe it was related to it because I had a lowered immunity which I have never had before and started nearly exactly within a 1-2 week incubation/growth period from the start of my e-cig use.

Blu cig is company based in the southern US owned by another company that profits by selling pornography, just so you know... so there is a MORAL reason not to oblige a company like that... plus goes to show that satan is behind it all.

If you do not already know, the vapor is flavored by use of some sort of product that is supposedly PG-free (propylene glycol). This is the same ingredient in antibacterial products, cake filling, and food coloring. Ingesting orally has been shown to minimally affect humans, yet ingesting via the air passageways of the lungs has not been proven to be safe, and even preliminarily shown to be highly dangerous. Propylene glycol and other previous ingredients used in the flavoring/vapor of these e-cigs has been a big debate in the whole e-cig land (go check out some of their forums and occasionally you will see a member speak out about it, that is if he isn't banned instantaneously).

I highly recommend from personal experience not to use them and if you MUST smoke, to get a quality tobacco product made for pipes or personal rolled cigarettes and keep it to a minimum. I cant believe I even got them, they just seemed too "COOL" and a temptation. Sure its cool to look like you're smoking in public and just be able to say "don't worry, its not a real cigarette"... but your health is not worth the temporary cool-factor. The nicotine rush is there, but its too much/easy to overdose and hard to gauge because the smoke goes down way too smooth unlike a real tobacco smoke.

  • Nat Sherman's are the best cigs out there...or you could just switch to a pipe...or just tough it out and go cold turkey.  Fasting on liquids ONLY, for at least the first two to three days, is an enormous help if you want to quit.

I never thought it possible that many in my generation would smoke as the health consequences were pounded into our heads starting in elementary school. I remember we'd come home from school and tell my dad all about why he shouldn't smoke. Then, I reached college and discovered that about half of my peers smoked!! Nothing remotely sophisticated like a pipe, just normal cigarettes. We had a big debate about it in a theology class of all places and a big "for" argument was the social element. So, my conclusion was that despite the public school's attempt to keep people from smoking, their efforts at producing a bunch of followers was even more successful.  :smirk:

(To all of you who smoke, don't take that too personally.  )

I didn't think much about this food "ingredient" until I was introduced to the fact that they inject it into my water heating system to keep the water from freezing. :stare:

  • Cigarettes would be great if they were like alcohol in which they could be moderated and not still kill you. With alcohol you can do it in moderation. With tobacco moderation isn't really an option if you're dying anyways...

I bought from V2cigs.com.  What are mods?  I like to try them since the V2 batteries are about worthless, they only last a few hours.

  • Caminus, have you ever tried nasal snuff?

It was once legal to ship inside the country (a few years ago) but now it has to be ordered overseas.

Anyway, it's very good (cheap) and not nearly as damaging as cigarettes.

  • These are quite common here in the past couple years roughly. Some folks here I've seen see these as a 'free lunch' I.e. nicotine without the cancer.

However, consider like 100% of these are made in China, and who know what they put in the components. And they're hardly, if at all, tested by an FDA or anything like that.

They heat a heat coil to make vapor, and those components could be made out of whatever. China is notorious for not giving a whit about consumers. These are the trading partners that put lead paint on kids' toys to save a buck.

I wouldn't inhale anything from China. The cartomizer units smell like burnt plastic pretty quickly, and who knows if that plastic you're breathing in is any less carcinogenic than tobacco.

Snuff is ground tobacco taken in the nose that was popular in the 18th Century.

As I said, sadly, it's not available by mail shipment in this country anymore. (at least not from my old source)  The prices of these are in British pounds, it's more expensive than it used to be, maybe 50% more.  Still, on container should last you a few days, maybe even a week or longer.
