I want to gain muscle but my only issue is getting a lot of protein and a calorie surplus. I was wondering if there is anything good other than cream and oil for getting a lot calories without eating too much food.
You're young. You don't have the same issues with hormones that women do in their life. Please don't take this time in your life for granted!! Your body right now is your friend, so keep it that way. Keep moving, exercise regularly, eat normal portions, drink lots of water, lift occasional moderate weights, avoid alcohol (excess carbohydrates) and sugar/high fructose corn syrup and junk foods, and let your body figure out where it will end up. ***Avoid steroids or anything similar*** Use all of your large muscle groups naturally in activities like swimming, cycling, rock climbing, running and rowing, and you will probably quite like your physique. :-)
Whatever you do, please don't fall for fads like coconut or palm oils, or a bunch of supplements (whey, etc.) The body is very good at "bulking" up on its own if you actually exercise. You may want to assess your body frame ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph, but you cannot be something that you are not.
Focus on maintaining your regular overall fitness and cardiovascular health, and in 20 years, you will be SO glad that you didn't follow any wacky stuff. The guys that use steroids to bulk up will end up with shorter life spans due to heart and cardiovascular issues, and there are actually very few women that like really big and bulky men like the Hulk. Most women are attracted to fit and healthy and some musculature, but not over-the-top. So if you are trying to "bulk up for the gals," you are doing things for the wrong purpose anyway.
No matter what, if you are insecure with yourself inside, bulking up is not going to help either. Maybe you are really lacking confidence?
God bless, Anne.
