Do you know anyone who has cancer?

  • Below please read, from my email, so I don't know for sure if this is friend or foe:

    Institute of Health Sciences, 819 N. L.L.C.
Charles Street Baltimore , MD 1201.
This is the latest in medicine, effective for
cancer! Read carefully & you be the judge.
    Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous
product to kill cancer cells. It is
    10,000 times stronger than chemo-
therapy.  Why do we not know about
     that? Because there are laboratories
interested in making a synthetic version
that will bring them huge profits. You can
now help a friend in need by letting him/her
know that lemon juice is beneficial in
preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant
and it does not produce the horrific effects
of chemotherapy. How many people will die
while this closely guarded secret is kept,
so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations? As
you know, the lemon tree is known for its
varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat
the fruit in different ways: you can eat the
pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets,
pastries, etc... It is credited with many
virtues, but the most interesting is the
effect it produces on cysts and tumors.
This plant is a proven remedy against
cancers of all types. Some say it is
very useful in all variants of
cancer. It is considered also as an
    anti microbial spectrum against bacterial
infections and fungi, effective against inter-
nal parasites and worms, it regulates blood
pressure which is too high and an anti-
    depressant, combats stress and nervous
disorders.  The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest
drug manufacturers in the world, says that
after more than 20 laboratory tests since
1970, the extracts revealed that: It
    destroys the malignant cells
in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ... The
compounds of this tree showed 10,000
times better than the product Adriamycin,
a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in
the world, slowing the growth of cancer
cells. And what is even more astonishing:
this type of therapy with lemon extract only
destroys malignant cancer cells and it
    does not affect healthy cells.

  • I received an email like that not too long ago.  Just now, I looked it up and several sites have this email listed as a partial hoax.  Lemons do have special properties that fight cancer cells but not at the strength purported.

Anyone else have more info on it?

  • Olive,
I have also heard about lemons, but I have wondered how many you'd have to eat to make a difference if you already have cancer.  The idea is that lemons are alkalizing and cancer cells do not thrive in an alkaline environment in the body.

For anyone interested in learning more about possible cancer cures see the thread that Matthew started called "The Root Causes of Cancer".  He posted an article that has lots of good info regarding cancer and I posted a link to a website that has a DVD called "Cancer, The Forbidden Cures".  You can also find the DVD on Amazon.

Besides the DVD, there is also book that has been recommended to me called:
"World Without Cancer: The Story of Vitamin B17" By G. Edward Griffin.  You can get that on Amazon also.

Apricot seeds and apple seeds are sources of B17 but to find out more, read the book.

  • Both apricot and apple seeds contain cyanogenic glycosides, which release hydrogen cyanide when digested.  I would not advise anyone to consume large quantities of either type of seeds!  B17 is not an actual vitamin, it's another term for
"laetrile," or  laevo-mandelonitrile-beta-glucuronoside, a modified form of the specific cyanogenic glycoside found in apples and apricots, amygdalin.  And in my books, cyanide is not an acceptable alternative cancer treatment...

  • I'm not a scientist, but I don't trust big pharma and I don't imagine that the drug companies want us to know about anything other than their drugs for cancer.  Regarding B17 and other possible cures for cancer, check out this video that introduces 6 of them.

For the info there on B17 go to 2:11 of the video.  This, of course, is just a start to any research on cancer cures.

  • "Big pharma" has nothing to do with the fact that you risk cyanide poisoning by consuming large quantities of these seeds.

According to the video: "Apricot kernels: These seeds contain vitamin B17 and cyanide.  Cyanide is of course a poison but when it combines with vitamin B17, it is apparently capable of killing cancer cells in the body.  Vitamin B17 and cyanide are also found in grape seeds, etc. etc."

The above is rather confused.  B17, which is not a vitamin, by the way, is the marketed name for Laetrile (C14H15NO7).  Laetrile is a cyanogenic glycoside, which is enzymatically converted into glucose, benzaldehyde, and hydrogen cyanide.  Thus, B17 isn't found *along* with cyanide, it is broken down *into* cyanide (you of course consume amygdalin when you eat apple/apricot seeds, but that's a moot point).  And cyanide likely does kill cancer cells - along with the rest of your bodily cells.

Distrusting commercialized medicine is one thing.  Turning your health over to quack doctors and youtube video makers is another.  Look up the published medical trials on the topic and decide for yourself.

  • I wouldn't recommend eating apricot or apple seeds to anyone (unless I hated them) for the reasons Kailyn listed.

  • I'd definitely do more research before I were to eat apple seeds or apricot pits by the handful.  I hope to figure some of this out way before I ever possibly get cancer, IF I ever get cancer, but I would like to do more research soon since I always know someone with cancer.   :scratchchin:

Did you hear about the guy who DID eat lots of apricot pits and "cured" his cancer?  He began selling apricot seeds and his big mistake was claiming in his literature that it "cured" cancer.  Because of that one word, the men in black showed up at his door, arrested him and put him in prison.   I think that was back in 2003 and he's since been released but I don't know what he's doing now.  I wonder if he's still free of cancer.

Here's an old news clip on him:

  • The only thing I have to add is that my mother had stage IV cancer twenty years ago and was on laetrile - but under a doctor's watchful eye.  She is still alive and cancer-free.

Her doctor (who is an MD) - holistic in his approach - had her on all kinds of vitamins and such as well.

So, my belief is that laetrile can work if done correctly.

  • Turmeric would be a MUCH better (and safer) bet than peach or apple seeds. Look it up.

How about prayer?  This is catholic forums right?  I've heard of people being cured by the miraculous water from Lourdes.  I just did a quick search and it looks like you can buy this water, awesome!  My grandfather died from cancer, but survived his first two rounds batteling cancer.  I think prayer helped those first two times.  the last time, I think the Lord was just calling him home.

The water of Lourdes is a sacramental. You can't buy a sacramental. As a matter of fact, the sacramental must be re-blessed after it is sold, and it's a grievous mortal sin to sell something that is already blessed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but selling something like relics merits one an automatic excommunication. Anyone who is selling the holy water of Lourdes online, or anywhere for that matter, is a criminal.

It's better to make the personal sacrifice of making a pilgrimage to Lourdes yourself and ask God for the desired graces, rather than trying to find the mail order cure in a bottle.
