Why does the "what's for dinner" thread keep going? I never read it, just noticed the numbers keep racking up. :stare:
I could understand a "favorite recipe" thread, but quite honestly I don't care what others are eating and am mystified why anyone else would care.
Why the bloody heck would such a sensible comment get
two thumbs down?
Marlelar, the answer to your question is: People like talking about themselves, no matter how trivial and inane the subject. That's how that monstrous engine of vanity and inaninty Twitter (which I was naive enough to think would fail the year it was launched) became a multi-billion dollar juggernaut.
Also, Poche likes to rack up an obscenely high post count and that thread is an ideal means to that end.
Grown adults who have this proclivity (which properly belongs to middle school-age girls) don't like to have the truth of the matter pointed out to them, and will lash out to soothe their wounded pride (which, in answer to my initial rhetorical question, explains the two downthumbs your post received, as well as the ones that this post will inevitably receive).
