    • good question.  Someone is trying to give away their chickens and taking them will necessitate creating some sort of shelter for them.

    I've been told the raccoons will kill them all though.

    I have a neighbor that has a few chickens and a few ducks. They let them wander during the day (they also have a cat and two large dogs, so there isn't much concern during the day about the birds being eaten) and at night they have a large cage that they keep the birds in with several dog-houses inside.

    That seems like the simplest quick solution.
