Died in an act of gross public gluttony. People are more and more forgetting that gluttony is a sin.

Not just "people", but "Catholics". I was surprised to note that this was at a "Catholic" college, and they offered a "Mass" for her.

Catholics REALLY should know better about gluttony. Isn't it interesting, in a way, how the Novus Ordo Mass could lead to a wholesale abandonment of Catholic morality? That's why we know it's about the Faith, not just the language used at Mass.

At these frat/sority events many young people die from too much alcohol and/or initiations.

The young girl was thin and had food allergies. This contest was during Greek life event.  Was pancake eating contest a last minute event or a publicized event?

Yes, this is disappointing that this took place at a Catholic College on a Sunday during Lent.

Yes, Mathew is right. Catholics should know better about gluttony.  The problem is most of us were never really taught the faith properly and (many of us had limited
Catholic education by attending public school. ) Now the Catholic faith in Catholic schools and colleges have been replaced with heresy, liberalism and anti Catholicism.

May that poor young woman RIP.

Did she, or anyone else, say Grace before eating?

You don't need to be a Catholic (but it should help) to know that eating is not a competition, ever.

Another thing which thoroughly repulses me, is this strange ritual of shaving one's head "for cancer". And these people believe that they are doing good! Such deception! Such a sick society we like in!
