  • Need some cures for sore throat. I once got a blessing invoking St Blaise patron of throat, but it was by a novus ordo priest, and it has verily done no good.

I keep coughing up phlegm because of a cold I got 5 weeks ago. I continue to cough up it, despite not having the cold anymore. This resulted in a sore throat the last few days, and now i have to say my rosary mentally. :(

    Need cure and prayers.

If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • Honey mixed with tea or simply taken straight up is supposed to help. Also gaggling with warm salt water.

  • "Eat honey, my son, because it is good, and the honeycomb most sweet to thy throat. So also is the doctrine of wisdom to thy soul: which when thou hast found, thou shalt have hope in the end, and thy hope shall not perish." Proverbs 24:13-14

  • The minute I start feeling my throat get sore I start drinking elderberry juice. Sore throat is usually just a symptom of something bigger. The elderberry juice keeps it at bay.

This concoction is my go to when I need immediate relief:
    -1 cup hot water
    -2 spoonfuls oh honey
    -a couple dashes of cayenne
    -2 tsp of ground cloves

Mix it and drink it. I have to plug my nose in order to choke it down.

It's pretty nasty tasting but it works wonders for me.

Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.
    ~James 1:27

  • FWIW I tend to think something with strong antiseptic properties kills the infection on the surface of the throat and so keeps pains at bay.

'The law of our Lord is immaculate, converting souls:
the testimony of our Lord is faithful, giving Wisdom to little ones.
The justices of our Lord be right, rejoicing the heart:
the precept of our Lord lightsome; illuminating the eyes.
The fear of our Lord is pure, lasting forever and ever:
the judgments of our Lord are true, justified in themselves.
To be desired above gold, than much precious stone:
and sweeter above honey and the honeycomb.'

    Ps. 18:8-11
    Sincerely,

  • I believe that heating honey destroys some of its properties.

When I feel a sore throat coming on I take a teaspoon of honey and I try to hold it as long as I can in the back of my mouth without swallowing. It works for me.

With phlegm you need to take garlic:
Take one small clove or part of a large one. Chop it finely, put it on a desertspoon, then add a teaspoon of honey on top of that, both to make it more palatable and for its own goodness. Then take a deep breath and SWALLOW!

Your problem is not coughing up phlegm. That's the good part. Your problem is its formation and presence. Why is it having around?  Your immune system is not doing its job. Are you smoking? How's your diet?
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.
