  • If the virus were fake, wouldn't the footage show hospitals operating in a normal manner, and ERs treating the usual injuries and ailments? It seems a little weird to use footage of completely empty hospitals and emergency rooms to prove that everything is business as usual.
    .
I'm sure there's a pretty simple explanation for these weird videos of empty hospitals that are circulating. I suspect the sick are being treated in some other location, but I don't know. I'm sure we'll get a simple answer eventually.

There is: the number of cases is MUCH lower than reported.  The Naval hospital ship has TWENTY patients and 1000 beds...per CNN!!

This is a complete Mind-Rape, Yeti.  People are sick; the real cause is debatable. What is not debatable is that hospitals all  around America are far from busy, even in the places they claim are worst hit.

  • I will not say the State I am in.  Our daughter works in supply of a major hospital. She had this to say: "Well, don't mistake "quite" equating no covid  patients.  We are as slow as we ever have been, cutting hours and sending people(staff) home, but we have 7 patients with covid right now.  Slow because no elective surgeries, Cath procedures or endoscopies where most revenue comes from.  That way we can free up beds for the influx that is to be expected."

So, there is truth and explanations.

  • Citizen reporters of the likes shown at the top of the thread should be tied to a post and tickled with a feather until they admit how stupid their reporting is.

When seeking out information, a reporter does not go out and ask questions to those are clearly clueless of what goes on and most importantly, does not present the information without giving context.  The underlying subtext of such citizen reporting is a convinction that Mass media reports are false and that their own video is the truth.

Real critical thinking knows immediately that this is the fallacy of a false choice: fact is, both can be true.   Many hospitals are now running out of ressources while there are scores of empty spaces and clueless people hanging in parking lots to speak to.  What's difficult to understand about that ?

And the boat in NY, it's not empty because of lack of demand but rather because of incompetence, bureaucracy and regulations... it's a scandal all to itself but has nothing to do with demand for care in NY right now.

I have heard this, too, but why would one not question such an idea, given that the sources I saw reporting this are mainstream?  Are you in NYC?  Do you possess first-hand knowledge that others lack?  My friends living right in the heart of NYC corroborate the reports that the MSM is lying their asses off, as idea that is consistent with their habitual practice.  Something just doesn't add up and IF the MSM were, in fact, reporting the truth, THAT would be the newsworthy item.

Btw, good to "see" you again, Van.  You may have been here all along, but I just came back very recently after 7/8 years away.  Hope you are doing well, sir.

It does make sense that hospitals seem empty because elective surgeries are being denied/cancelled.  But it’s also equally true that the media/hospital admins are lying.
    .
    1.  Fact - on 3/20, Sec of State Pompeo said “this is a live exercise”.  To which Trump complained “You should’ve told us.”  This has been edited out of replays.  What does this mean?
    .
    2.  Fact - clinics and hospitals across the US aren’t “overwhelmed” with testing and sick people.  Citizen reporters have proved this.  CBS was caught using Italian hospital footage and passing it off as being from NY.  It was a frame-by-frame lie.
    .
    3.  Fact - I have a relative in NY who has close doctor friends in the hospitals.  When the media reports came out a week ago that a specific hospital had “1 death every hour”, my relative called his friends to see how they were holding up in the chaos.  The doctor friends said the media lied.  There were a few deaths in a few hours time and the media “projected” this small sample size out to a period of 24-48 hrs.  Totally dishonest and evil.

    I'm fine thanks.

Seems to me you are confusing eye-witnessing with firsthand knowledge.
Being a witness to vast areas anormaly empty and without activity, even around hospitals is normal given the instructions of social distancing.  Witnessing empty areas does not equal knowledge of what is happening.

It is you that make an extra-ordinary claim that requires extra-ordinary evidence.
No offense to your pal... but he knows nothing more from being in the heart of NY.

In the last 24h hours, almost 600 died in NY and contrary to what you seem to intuit, this does not happen in broad daylight in the heart of NYC where your friend can witness it.

Happy to hear it...that you are fine, that is.

You can confirm the report how?  Are you working in a NYC morgue these days, or have an honest cousin who is?

These are the numbers reported by the Departement of Health of NY State
    https://covid19tracker.health.ny.gov/views/NYS-COVID19-Tracker/NYSDOHCOVID-19Tracker-Map?%3Aembed=yes&%3Atoolbar=no&%3Atabs=n

As I said, you are the one making an extra-ordinary claim that these numbers are inflated and as such, you need to provide extra-ordinary evidence to support it.
Videos of empty spaces (in a context of orders of social distancing) and your buddy does not constitute extra-ordinary evidence.  It's in fact, no evidence at all.

Worse still, it's just a familiar strand of contrarian view you adopt to just about anything that happen.  It's to be expected and as such, you are only reliable in the sense that you will always default to claiming all is a lie, regardless of the circomstances or evidence.  You are like a clock, reliable to show 12:00 when you plug it in, but not reliable to tell the time.

I really loath that you deny that there is right now and in the coming days, weeks, true suffering and pain happening at such a large scale that we have never seen in our lifetime.
Here is a report on  temporary NY morgues (because regular ones have been insuffisciant and for a while now) that your buddy seem to have missed during his daily strolls:

Where did I deny any such thing?  I am rather certain there IS massive suffering and that it will increase, maybe even exponentially.  You may refrain from your feigned and completely unjustified loathing now, Your Arrogance.

  • By the way, Van, why are you back?  It doesn't appear you have done much posting here in recent years.  Is it safe to presume it isn't due to a sudden increase in faith and devotion?

By denying the numbers as you did, you certainly seem to deny as well the sacrifice of health workers who work tiressely and deny the suffering of those loosing a loved one.

My arrogance, yes, I'm a hammer.  Sometimes hammers are required.

If somehow I inferred to much in what you meant, I apologize sincerely and honestly, this is not about you or me... it's about the acutely stupid citizen reporting such as the one on top really is.

  • To your question...

I sometimes look around here see how the fringe right talk about XYZ.

Rarely does it pull me in but this time it did.
