  • Arthritis is a common joint disorder owing to its prevalence in adults, the debilitating disorder is characterised by constant pain and inflammation in the affected joints. Joint stiffness restricts movement in the disease. The common symptoms of Arthritis include inability to use the hand or walk, weight loss, fatigue difficulty in moving joints, muscle aches and pain. Varied levels of pain are prevalent in the different forms of Arthritis.  The major forms of Arthritis are Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gouty Arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the common form of Arthritis affecting aged adults in contrast to Rheumatoid Arthritis affecting middle aged adults. Gouty Arthritis is caused by the deposition of Uric acid crystals in the joint resulting in inflammation. The joints in Gout become swollen and lose function. In the early stages, this form of Arthritis affects one joint and later it affects many joints. Arthritis Ayurvedic cure is quite effective, Ayurveda provides complete cure for the various forms of Arthritis with the inception of Arthritis therapy. External therapies such as Abhyanga or therapeutic oil massage, Podikkizhi or powder bolus massage, Elakizhi or leaf bolus massage, Njavara or rice bolus massage are used in treatment for Arthritis.
