  • Hello,

In do not post often but I was wondering if you could help me. I believe it was here at Cathinfo that I saw a post, ages ago, about bipolar disorder. I really don’t remember if it was here or at FE ... it was a trad forum  :scratchchin:. Anyway, the said post talked about how this doctor said bipolar disorder didn’t exist. I have been trying to find it for a have a sister-in- law who claims being bipolar and, well, I don’t buy it for a few reasons (long story). Maybe like today schools like to claim every other child has ADD, I have this feeling bipolar disorder is being used much in the same way.
I found a youtube video from a doctor from the scientology sect saying Bipolar disorder doesn’t exist, but I was wondering if you have any trad info on this as well. I know I read about it in a trad forum somewhere …..

    Thank you,
    In Christ,
    Mariafrombrazil (Patricia)

  • The page #'s and index are not there so take notes and read carefully. Some people who claim to be bi-polar are actually suffering from full blown MPD(DID). The book is by a Prot but really not about religion per se.

Please look at Fr. Chad Ripperger's talks at http://www.sensustraditionis.org in the Psychology section.

He is a traditional Catholic priest with a Ph.d in Psychology.   He is also an Exorcist who holds a very practical Catholic point of view about Bi-Polar Disorders and the like.

I promise you will be very consoled by his wisdom BUT he talks very fast and you have to pay him with a decade of the Rosary for each time you listen.

  • MO is that ADD is actually a fraud and does not exist. The same is not true for MPD(DID) or bipolar( MPD lite).

You need a plug-in (and so do I)

BUT try the audio entitled, 'Modern Psychology and the Catholic Faith'.

It is in the Multimedia section --------->>>>>

    scroll down ------------>>>>>

    to External.

Thanks for pointing out that he has some videos!!!  If I figure out the plug-ins I'll let you know.

I hope you enjoy Fr's work.

  • I don't know if 'enjoy' is the correct term but for the record, who does Fr Ripperger recognise as the Pope at this time?

  • I finally got the one link to work but dont have time to listen now. The prob is I cannot stop the audio even by going to another page or going to my desktop. I will have to turn comp off. Could u describe what is meant by ..." he has a very practical approach to bipolar disorders and the like".

  • Roscoe you are correct, 'enjoy' is the wrong word.  I should have said, "I hope you find Fr. Ripperger's analysis of Modern Psychology worthwhile."

Fr. Ripperger is a FSSP priest.

He thinks most modern psyche diagnoses are questionable and incompatible with Catholic Truth.

  • OK Eliz-- i listened to as much as i could take which was about 20 min. Fr Ripperberger shows No awareness of MPD(DID) and as such is a waste of time. He is also boring. There is no mention of Satanic Ritual crimes against small infant children and how this trauma produces deliberate multiple personalities.

  • It seems as if the link will not work. Go to youtube and search Stop the Pedophile Protecting Hate Crimes Bill.

No, the FSSP holds Benedict as a valid Pope, considering they are in "communion" with Rome.

Just out of curiosity roscoe, where do you attend Mass? I've never seen you talk about it much.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • I have not been to Mass since I was about 15 yrs old.

It figures  that Ripperger is a NO priest.
