And all the more reason to correct.  He's a good looking young man wearing beads to any queer who sees him.  Though his intentions may be pure we've dealt with this scenario before.

The men here have constantly told the women they must dress so as NOT to be provocative... well in this upside down world we now live in young men must be careful not to dress in a provocative manner that appeals to other men regardless of their intentions.
Surely the men here can encourage Alan in ways to promote the faith without risking encouraging other "men" to be falsely attracted.

And now that you are aware this practice can make you the cause of another's sinful thoughts it would be sinful for you to continue.
I've never heard of this.

I wear the rosary because if I carry it in my pants, which are charcoal, the paint may melt off the wooden beads. It's easy to untuck and pray in public I'm also unable to lose it.

If I thought a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ was staring at me I'd pray it in front of him. I honestly wouldn't notice though, unless he walks up or does something creepy, worst case scenario it becomes a self defense situation.

It's the same as anyone staring at me, unless it's a child in that case I always notice, I sense their spirit and I smile and wave back, say hello depending.

No hatred towards the respectful starers in public, I don't get "errand crushes" back like I did when I was 12. Doesn't mean I'm going to stay inside. Doesn't mean I'm going to leave my Rosary at home.

I don't think wearing the Rosary has attracted anyone, only warded off evil, another reason I wear it. Still, most people don't understand what it is anyway. If I begin placing it in my pocket and wearing light colored pants (you can send me some light colored pants size 32) I imagine it'd actually be slightly worse, slightly more hassle when I get home, or want to pray in public. The Rosary alone hasn't attracted anyone I've met, perhaps I would be married if it did.

It matches my beret and belt strap, also.

I'm sorry.   Is this lady encouraging people not to wear the rosary because it will "encourage fαɢɢօts to sin"??

Is this really the level of reasoning we are at?   Clown world.

"Wasn't a tradition"  Really now...there are billions and trillions of things, anything that you could think up that wasn't a tradition.  Show me a docuмent, artifact, proof... even an instruction for lay Catholics to wear a rosary.
From the 1940's to the 1990's, time for which I have personal experience, lay Catholics never wore a rosary and I've not seen any evidence of them doing so prior to my life on earth.
You must have missed the oodles and oodles of examples of lay people brandishing and wearing their rosaries in St. Louis de Montfort's masterpiece,

The Secret of the Rosary:

"Alphonsus, King of Leon and Gallica, very much wanted all his servants to honor the Blessed Mother by saying the rosary. So he used to hang a large rosary on his belt and always wore it...his wearing it encouraged his courtiers to say it very devoutly."

"Looking at him (the king) with great kindness, Our Lady said, as a reward for WEARING my rosary, I have obtained a great grace for you from My Son.  Your life will be spared for a few more years."

"Blessed Alan said that a man he knew of had desperately tried all kinds of devotions to rid himself of the evil spirit that possessed him, but without success.  Finally, he thought of wearing his rosary around his neck, which eased him considerably. He discovered that whenever he took it off, the devil tormented him cruelly, so he resolved to wear it night and day."

It actually says,  "Those who OPENLY WEAR the Holy Rosary out of devotion and to set a good example may gain one-hundred days' indulgence."

"Othere was a Breton soldier, from Valcolouers, and he often put whole companies of  heretics or robbers to flight unaided, wearing his rosary on his arm OR CARRYING IT ON THE HILT OF HIS SWORD."

"What on earth are you wearing it on your belt for, fanatic that you are?  Why don't you go the whole way and wear it around your neck, like the Spaniards?  They carry an enormous rosary in one hand -- and a dagger in the other."

...the list just goes on and on.

Hopefully, by now, you get the point.    The idea of laypersons OR religious openly wearing their rosaries goes WAY back.  And the idea of "hiding" one's rosary is the post Vatican 2 novelty!

God bless.

I was going to give a witty response but decided on a long one. I've had women in the past warn me about other women, disguising it as ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ men. I treated it as such in my reply.

Regardless that was dumb. Obviously, if anyone is attracted to me it's not due to my Rosary, and if it were that'd be a good thing.
