My husband overheard on a health show that 2 cups of beetroot juice a day will lower your blood pressure. I'm game. But I'm taking so many bp meds now, I wonder if I won't sink it altogether.
-
Here's my two cents, Trinity.
Stick with your BP meds. I had a very dear friend who was being treated for high blood pressure and who decided to nix the doctor and follow a special vitamin and health food plan. Don't ask what happened. It broke my heart.

That's why I expressed my concern. Will keep it in mind, Alexandria.

Beet juice is supposed to be one of the finest blood builders and purifiers.
Regular exercise will help regulate BP. Obviously stress is not good for BP.
I think St. John of the Cross is our friend for blood issues, and of course the Precious Blood.
-
Never thought about the Precious Blood. Just call on Mary day and night. I will proceed with care.

Nuts! I love buttered beets. Any harm or help in eating them?
-
Sadly, the sight of beets results in involuntary gag reflex for me. :wine-drinking:
I know that wheatgrass juice is good for the blood, but it would probably be toxic mixed with cuмadin or other meds.
-
It should say what things to avoid when taking certain medicines. I can not imagine beets being on the list of no no foods. However, Andrew does have one that says tell you doctor if you eat garlic. He does ( I am half Italian after all) and is fine.

I'll ask my nutritionist. Yup, I have a nutritionist---she comes with the nephrologist, 2 PD nurses and a social worker. Ha! It's not what you know, but who you know. This isn't even counting all you fine folks.
