  • My husband overheard on a health show that 2 cups of beetroot juice a day will lower your blood pressure.  I'm game.  But I'm taking so many bp meds now, I wonder if I won't sink it altogether.

  • Here's my two cents, Trinity.

Stick with your BP meds.  I had a very dear friend who was being treated for high blood pressure and who decided to nix the doctor and follow a special vitamin and health food plan.  Don't ask what happened.  It broke my heart.

  • That's why I expressed my concern.  Will keep it in mind, Alexandria.

  • Beet juice is supposed to be one of the finest blood builders and purifiers.

Regular exercise will help regulate BP.  Obviously stress is not good for BP.

I think St. John of the Cross is our friend for blood issues, and of course the Precious Blood.

  • Never thought about the Precious Blood.  Just call on Mary day and night.  I will proceed with care.

  • Nuts!  I love buttered beets.  Any harm or help in eating them?

  • Sadly, the sight of beets results in involuntary gag reflex for me.   :wine-drinking:

I know that wheatgrass juice is good for the blood, but it would probably be toxic mixed with cuмadin or other meds.

  • It should say what things to avoid when taking certain medicines. I can not imagine beets being on the list of no no foods. However, Andrew does have one that says tell you doctor if you eat garlic. He does ( I am half Italian after all) and is fine.

  • I'll  ask my nutritionist.  Yup, I have a nutritionist---she comes with the nephrologist, 2 PD nurses and a social worker.  Ha!  It's not what you know, but who you know.  This isn't even counting all you fine folks.
