I always said grace over my 2 Jack In The Box 99cent tacos and my Little Caesars $5 pizza and still got sick.

Do the smart thing... stop eating crap that you know is making you sick and stop tempting God.

I do... I don't eat Jack in the Box tacos or Little Caesars.  Just writing that out makes me feel sick.

But McDonald's doesn't make me sick.  If it did, I would stop going, but it doesn't, and I am lean as a whippet.  So I will continue to enjoy those crispy, golden fries because they probably will not be around much longer.   I don't eat it three times a day, that's all.

"Stop tempting God."  Dry up, Samurai.  If someone brings a fried, gooey donut to Mass would you pass it up as "tempting God"?  So every time we eat something that isn't a salad of arugula and orange slices we are tempting God?

  • Funny thing my mom ate whatever, and she just turned 95, I myself believe in moderation, that is the key.  There is no sin in enjoying a McDonalds et al once in awhile, as long as you don't do it daily.

However if you want to imitate John the Baptist, I heard there was a grasshopper invasion in California.   Very good food, full of protein.  Enjoy!

Donuts dont make me sick, so no. But eating something that you know will make you sick or that will trigger or compound any ailments you might have, and expecting to be free of the effects just because you asked God to bless it, is tempting God. Eating a donut once in a while, isnt going to kill you, but if you are at risk for diabetes, then you really should not be snacking on something that will bring about the illness. It's like drinking a whole bottle, rather than a glass, of vodka and asking God to not let you get drunk.

That's my post-Chastisement lunch right there.  Despite what the Vatican II group says, I don't think munching on corpses is okay even in an emergency.

Near the beach where I live there is a cockroach infestation.  Every night when I walk the dog there are more and more cockroaches, and they get shinier and fatter all the time.  They don't even bother to run away as you walk near them, they are so arrogant.  Almost as if they know they're about to take over...

It depends totally on what you are eating.... weather it's a food or a filler. If your regularly eating something that is really just a mass of junk and has no nutritive value for the purpose of satisfying your body's needs your body is naturally going to deteriorate because what it needs are those nutrients to maintain itself. What is in need of satisfaction is not your taste-buds, but your body. Satisfying the former when you should be caring for the later is going to come with consequences. I can eat Reeses peanutbutter cups all day because they are so good, but just because Im filling my stomach doesnt mean Im satisfying my body's needs. What Im consuming is not meeting the necessity. To put it simply, Im eating for pleasure and not out of necessity. It's okay to snack on candy food like McDonalds (though I couldnt, I could only do Jack in the Box) once in a while, it isnt to do it so frequently that your body starts deteriorating (getting sick). The last thing anyone should do is knowingly stuff themselves with something that isnt even food and ask God to prevent them from getting sick, because He gave us the reason to determine what is necessary for our health.

  • Are those the ones known as water bugs, Raoul?  If they're that bad, maybe it's time for the big one.  Shudder!  I would rather starve than eat roaches.  Yuck a doodle!

Good post Matthew. I'm glad I don't have the water that contains fluoride in it. Unfortunetly, many people have water with fluoride. Watch out for it in toothpaste too!

Well we have toothpastes with the ad "contains fluoride" as a possitive point on it.
Years ago at the school they gave brother a liquid for daily washing of the mouth and they proudly called it "flouride liquid".
All things so puzzling. They must be desirous of hiding a posion (if there is one) not proclaim it!

  • We were inundated with flouride as a positive thing for years before someone discovered and reported that it was a bad thing.  They poison us in many ways.

Yes, they used to give those treatments at the dentist's.  They made me sick once I recall.

Alot of dentists use fluoride. The government has tricked people by saying it is good for your teeth or something like that. The next time I go to the dentist and they want to use fluoride on my teeth (they always want to) I'm not going to let them do it.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • I read an article about flouride a long time ago.   It seems there are a number of kinds of it, some good, some bad.  The stuff they gave us was bad.  Now if you weren't confused before, I trust you are now.  This makes it all about as clear as mud, doesn't it?
