Yes most people in western countries are extended overweight. Makes finding a spouse much harder if you are at a normal weight..

How many grams of sugar do you eat per day? Mostly refined or from fruit/juice?

Obstinate fool, a high sugar/carb and very low fat diet cures type 2 diabetes. High dietary fat causes type 2 diabetes. Blood glucose alleviates "brain fog" which is one of the symptoms of dementia.

How many grams of sugar do you eat per day? Mostly refined or from fruit/juice?
The only time I count grams of sugar is when I'm doing an endurance exercise. I always add refined sugar to fruit because, today, fruit is devoid of the nutrient. I consume refined (isotonics) and juice. You need 100-200 grams of sugar per hour during endurance activities. Other than that, I just eat as much as my body tells me to eat. It varies depending on the day. I never count calories. Just go by your appetite. Obviously, I keep the grams of fat 10 grams or less each day. If I get too lean, then I go to 20 grams to get to optimal weight, then I go back to 10 or less grams each day. All you need are one or two grams of omega 3 fats each day for optimal health.

Averages are problematic when you're in a "melting pot".
Example: the "average" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. But for white women, it's 41.5 weeks.
So for my family, the average pregnancy is 41.5 weeks. THAT is the average, with 50% more, and 50% less.
Because my wife and I are both white. Why would we care what the average gestation is for a negro, or an asian, or an eskimo? It has zero bearing on us.
Might as well concern myself with the gestation period of an elephant.
Why is it problematic? Because the doctor will become "concerned" when your white wife is 41 weeks pregnant -- even though she's right on track for a white woman.
He might schedule an induction, which often leads to a C-section, and could ultimately affect how many children you can have! All because of PC nonsense about "ignoring race" and "we're all the same".

Is it me or the less white the country gets, the fatter it gets.
Blacks are some of the fittest people out there, but the MAJORITY of fit people I seen my whole life are white. It's in our DNA to pursue perfection.

Granted I have a baby under 2 months (it takes time to lose weight postpartum if nursing a baby) and I am an inch and a half taller (and a few lbs. heavier) but no one ever seems to think I look over weight. :cowboy:

Also, I just don't see that many people as fat as in the OP.

My post partum self told me not to click on this thread but here I am. :facepalm:
Some moms have a hard time keeping weight on while nursing and rearing children despite eating quite a bit. Some moms have a harder time with each child that is born. That person is me. It gets harder to lose the weight after each baby and takes much more effort! Finding the energy and will power to make that effort is, I’ll just admit it…. hard to follow through with sometimes.
Genetics can play a pretty big role too. Some women will look pretty overweight at 170, and some would look nice and trim depending on their build. BMI calculators don’t take any of that into consideration. I’ve always had quite a bit of muscle, have always been stronger than a lot of other girls/women naturally. I come by it honestly, that’s how most of my dad’s side of the family is. I did not look fat at 170. I try not to focus too much on weight but living healthfully. If you eat well and stay active it would be hard to get too overweight but might still need to work at it.
The state of our food supply does not help. So many terrible, unnatural ingredients available everywhere! One can make big strides in eating healthfully if they shop the perimeter of the grocery store and skip the middle aisles. That’s where all the junk is.
This is why growing as much of our own food is so important to our family.

You're welcome. I eat pasta but I seldom eat other grains. Not much protein but there is a study that says matching 1 gram of protein for every 4 grams of carbs increases and speeds recovery. I did it a few time and it does seem to work. But even the little protein that I usually consume, as long as my sugar/carb intake is high, my recovery and energy levels are still great. I used to drink pea protein powder shakes with lots of refined sugar and chocolate syrup, and one serving is still less than 10 grams of fat but around 25 grams of protein. I still have a whole container of it. I need to drink it up so it doesn't go to waste. Protein is generally overrated. Minimum is necessary, yes, but overrated in terms of performance. Too much protein hurts your liver/kidney.

I did it a few time and it does seem to work. But even the little protein that I usually consume, as long as my sugar/carb intake is high, my recovery and energy levels are still great. Thanks again, so I guess no meat/animal products? And do you have any beginner resources you would recommend for this type of diet? I take it you do a lot of cardio, what about resistance training? I've mostly used free weights but have been looking into calisthenics for better control over the body

Eat a nice steak or other animal source once a week but no animal products in other meals that same day, and other meals should be, at most, moderate in proportion on that same day, and no more dietary fat that day. Throughout the week, reserve a few days to eating two to four eggs but remember, two eggs is about 10 grams of fat, so if you want single digit body fat (like Bruce Lee), you can't go over 10 grams each day. No more than 20 grams of fat each day will still get you lean but not single digit. And remember to avoid fats in other meals throughout the day. No compromise in biochemistry (that's the reaction in the body). The rest of your meals should be no animal products and high carb/sugar and very little dietary fat. Try to get omega 3s as fats each day but no more than 1 - 2 grams a day. Don't worry about getting enough protein. Protein is overrated and excess can make you fat and cause liver/kidney problems. Protein, like fat, is the antithesis to weight loss.
I've, historically, done a lot of cardio (riding bikes and running) but not as much as I'd like to at the present time due to my state in life. I do some resistance training, too, and pullups. In my twenties, I was a hardcore weightlifter but I never did steroids. Calisthenics should be good.
That durianrider guy (I posted some of his videos on Health/Nutrition sub forum) is a great source for health & fitness. He's a vegan but his biggest emphasis is a HCLF (high carb/sugar, low fat) diet for weight loss. Even vegans get fat because a lot of the food they eat is high in fat, and he'll be the first person to tell you. He has a lifetime coaching group where he answers all of your questions. It's a pay once membership. I'm not a member but I mention it in case you might find it helpful. A word of caution is some of the things unrelated to health/fitness that he advocates is degenerate but, by the same token, he is anti-worldling in other ways. Just go with his health/fitness protocols. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Take what you can use and ignore the rest.
