Speaking of LifeSiteNews,
As most of you know, I used to work for them. For almost 2 full years, actually.
Anyhow, they supposedly had another company-wide annual meeting in person at their HQ in August 2021. The last one was in 2019, which I attended. The company meeting in 2020 was virtual/online, due to COVID travel restrictions. Obviously no pictures could be taken at that 2020 virtual meeting.
I notice that even as of late January 2022, they are still showing on their "Contact" page the group photo shoot taken in August 2019. I understand them keeping it up throughout 2020, and up until their next meeting (which was in August 2021). But why are they "canonizing" that particular group of employees for all time? A lot of them have moved on, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. I look at the current list of journalists, and most of the names I don't recognize.
Has their employee demographic changed in some way -- such that it would be more advantageous to drag their feet on updating the photo, rather than rushing to update it? For example, perhaps they have less employees now, so it makes them look like they're shrinking, less in need of money, and less of a upward-bound winning team that everyone wants to support? Or are they more "diverse" now, which might turn off certain of their supporters? Or are they younger now, with a good chunk of their workforce filled by young Interns (we all know how much money Interns make)? Or has the
average LifeSite female employee gone from Indult to Novus Ordo or worse?
I am completely speculating here. But I've been wondering these things for months now.
