  • Does anyone have any advice for a person with Multiple Sclerosis?
"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." • I have not looked at this link too deeply, but this site might be a good place to start.

I would also suggest doing some heavy research into the Weston A Price foundation, the GAPS diet, and Leaky Gut Syndrome.  And specifically I would read the works of Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride.

    Thank you very much!

  • I have MS myself, but I'm not good with giving or following advice. I've been considering paleo for about 18 months, but I just can't avoid the food I should!

I'm sorry to hear that.  What is paleo?  Have you heard about the benefits of adult stem cells?  They kind where you do not murder anyone to get them.

  • One of the biggest problems with MS seems to be inflammation and swelling throughout the body, which then affects the brain, spinal chord, and all of the rest of a person's nervous system...

So, here are some things that might help:

    1. Eat more anti-inflammatory foods:

    Colorful fruits and vegetables
    Oily fish
    Nuts
    seeds
    Ginger
    Garlic
    Cayenne
    Bananas
    Extra-virgin Olive Oil

    2. Avoid foods that cause inflammation:

    Carbohydrates
    Sugar
    Gluten and Processed Food Products

(By the way, fresh food is a major key factor in helping a person to get better...  Cooking from scratch can be difficult and time consuming at first, but it is so much more healthy!)

Circulation, brainfog, weakness, and urinary problems also seems to be major issues in this illness.  To fix this try these things:

    1.  Drink more fluids (also see if you can find Kombucha or fermented drinks to take).

    2.  Exercise more.

    3.  Have regular meal times.

    4.  Have a scheduled life.

Routine helps a lot with illnesses like this, but stress and disorder tend to make it worse.

    Hope this helps!

Keep fighting and may God bless you!

A lot of AMDGJMJ's recommendations look like they would fit with the paleo diet. Here's an article about paleo and MS.

Yes, it sounds fairly interesting. There's a treatment where they basically destroy your immune system (sounds drastic!) and then start it up again with these new stem cells, or something like that.

Very interesting.  Are frequent headaches, weird taste in your mouth, eyes feeling funny, acheyness and lack of energy associated with MS?

    You are welcome!  :-)

And yes, I think that frequent headaches, aching eyes, and general exhaustion certainly are common for those who have MS.

Get well soon if God will it!

Thank you.  My wife and I both might have it.  My wife as waiting for the test results.  I'm still in denial.

  • We will keep both of you in our Rosary.

The body has an amazing ability to heal itself if properly nourished.  Modern medicine rejects this approach outright and openly scoffs at it.  They'd rather sell you pills for the rest of your life.  Keep an open mind and do your homework.

Just remember that these types of diseases are an aberration in nature.   You rarely find this type of thing in the animal kingdom, but humans seem to be plagued by it.  Animals eat/live what and how they are designed to.  We don't.

Thank you so much for the prayers!  I am afraid you are so right and America is the worst.  Artificial everything.  We are such a superficial nation in every way.

I think it tends to vary from person to person. Personally, I rarely get headaches, and no weird taste. My eyes sometimes have a little difficulty focusing (like now, reading this!). Aches and lack of energy are definitely there for me! Also, odd sensations. I remember when I first got MS (almost 18 years ago), cold water felt hot, and a slight pin prick felt like a cigarette burn. Now my fingers are fuzzy, and my handwriting gets scrawly as the day wears on. Legs sometime feel leaden, and I can't walk without support. Some people are worse, some are better; and some days are worse than others. Very unpredictable!

So far, I'm managing to stay off any drugs for this.
