  • Well the Acorns are coming down pretty heavily this year where I live. We have a tongue and groove roof, and every now and again I'll hear a 'tap!'... tap tap taptap tap tap taptaptaptaptap to wake me up in the morning. Lots of big acorns for some reason this year. I was reading that the 'Serrano Indians' would eat the nut meat. I found this really good website on the process of drying and processing acorns for food. Who knows, might be a good skill for the future? Anyone have experience with acorns?
