Here's a new topic, motivated by getting down-thumbed for providing actual news for a modest digression to a topic originated by Matthew.  Hey-ell it was a digression [×] only from breads to starch veggiesCathInfo readers routinely endure much wider digressions than that.  So I offer herein:

73 Savory Cooking Projects for People Who Just Can't Make Another Loaf of Bread
Layered pastas, hand-rolled dumplings, your own smoked salmon: these are the kinds of projects you take on when you have a bit of extra time on your hands.

I'm offering this new topic for any replies that fit within the broad declared subject.  Otherwise, enjoy and comment as it seems fit.  Meanwhile, I need to open a fermented beverage and go cook a now-late dinner on this Low Sunday.

How funny!  I scrolled down through some of the recipes listed on their site, and about 1/2 of them I make already.  I had NO IDEA I was an epicurean cook!
Sauerkraut, homemade cheese, homemade sausage, pork belly, noodles...I had to laugh.  I didn't notice pork or cow head though.  Or offals.  (Maybe in the book?!)  A lot of the things we eat we make/butcher/grow ourselves, but don't call them by such fancy names.

I think I'll tell my husband I need a raise.  I am an epicurean CHEF! :laugh2:
