Thanks, everyone.  It's the old 55 today ... when I thought (when I was younger) I'd be able to retire.  That target has been revised to about 75-80.

Oh, to be 55 again. 

(But then again I would not have my monthly Social Security payment.)

I don't believe I'll see a dime of Social Security.  Over the years, they've taken more out of my paycheck for SS than they have for federal taxes, but there will likely not be anything left by the time I hit 62/67.  Or else, they'll just raise the retirement age again.

Thank you.  When I got married 23 years ago, my wife's parents were in their mid-fifties, and they seemed "old" to me.  That seemed like yesterday, but now here I am too.  Life is short and over in the blink of an eye.  All that matters is eternity.  Simple math is that any finite number divided by eternity is 0, so this life is literally nothing compared to eternity.
