  • About every THREE years the place completely changes. If you don't believe me, just find an old thread from 3, 6, or 9 years ago and see who participated in the thread. You won't see many familiar faces, and most of the people in the thread you'll be like "who's that?"

    3 years ago:
    http://www.cathinfo.com/catholic.php?a=topic&t=22836&min=0&num=10

    5 years ago:
    http://www.cathinfo.com/catholic.php?a=topic&t=15546&min=0&num=10

    7 years ago:
    http://www.cathinfo.com/catholic.php?a=topic&t=6850&min=0&num=10

    9 years ago:
    http://www.cathinfo.com/catholic.php/New-Cathinfo-Rules

That's why I think it's ridiculous when someone from 6 years ago talks about his "CathInfo" experience and what a cesspool it IS (present tense), etc. If they were of good will or honest, they would try the site out again and update their information.

Why do people put up with name-calling and vague generalizations with NO proof, NO examples or anything? I want to hear these complainers give their reasons, which are probably something along the lines of: "I can't stand CathInfo, because in every thread Caminus comes in with..." or, "CathInfo is such trash. Gladius_veritatis gets drunk and goes on one of his drunken rants laced with foul language..."

Um...newsflash...neither one of those ex-members has been on CI for years.

The only "constants" on CathInfo are:

    1. Me (so if you hate my guts -- you might want to get that checked out in the confessional -- you're right to stay away)
    2. Related to #1, since I'm still the owner/mod the site has a certain flavor to it -- Recognize and Resist, classic SSPX is the best but Catholics holding other positions on the Crisis are welcome, anti-Modern World, value the truth at all times, integral (Monday to Saturday) serious Catholicism, alternative news, cօռspιʀαcιҽs, etc. Also a hatred for error and evil.

I mean, let's use our brains and basic logic here: when the whole membership turns over and becomes DIFFERENT, is it logical to assume that anything (good or evil) about the site will be THE SAME?

So unless you hate my guts, or you are a dogmatic home aloner ("There are only 5 valid priests in the whole world", "You can't attend Mass from a vagus priest, and the Novus Ordo is out."), or you are some kind of fringe kook (Pope Michael, Pope Augustine) you might want to give CathInfo another look.

That was one of the more amusing and fun parts about this site.   :laugh1:

He is an intelligent and witty man even when drunk.  I miss him.  His famous post is what got me to join.  He always had something intelligent and entertaining to say and usually quite correct IMO.

  • In fact if anyone is bored and has time they should go to the "members" section, look up Gladius and then read his posts.  Guaranteed you will laugh.

He had some very creative ways with words when he was "under the influence". His insults and colorful metaphors were... very Irish.

I'll admit I laughed hard at a few of them. His colorful imagery and metaphors reminded me of my (late) father. Incidentally, my father never drank, but he became quite funny when he was frustrated or upset. I remember one road trip, he was frustrated by the traffic. The things he said about those other cars...what they were supposedly doing in those cars... all of our sides were splitting!

One thing I'll say about the Irish is that we have a GREAT sense of humor.  I do not drink but there was a lot of drinking in my family.  But I have those same tendencies as you Father and Gladius had.  I can get people really laughing when they get my humor.  Come back Gladius.  Just one post a day please.

  • Eeek he is wearing a skirt! ... just kidding!

I like everyone else,  have a lot of faults, but hating someone or holding a grudge is not one of my faults.  I might get hurt or disappointed but seldom mad.  When I get mad I give a thumb down or put them on ignore for awhile till I cool off then take them off ignore.

Speaking of thumbing up or down, I don't think that is fair game here since I am not allowed to give Lover of Truth any thumb ups nor can I give Matthew a thumb down, that doesn't seem fair to me.  That is one of my opinions since you ask.

I think if that feature is here we should all be able to use it either way on whoever or the feature shouldn't be here at all.

Also we should be able to edit that feature, I made a mistake a few times and clicked the wrong thumb, didn't sleep well that night.

    Please pray for my soul.

    Here are a few excerpts:

    Man of the West said:
[We ought to adopt an identical stance, mutatis mutandis, concerning the War on Terror, viz. that we are living through very confusing times, and not everybody who disagrees with us is culpably defective.]

If a man is working with the intellectual equivalent of urine-soaked dog chow, that may or may not have moral ramifications.  Tis ye who are acting as if I said such...I did not.

If you want to grant positive assent to something which is not supported by ANY evidence, go for your life!

[I grasp that you're a smart guy and I know the meaning of all the words you used.  Still...  BO is a mendacious sack of sh*t, a shiny-but-hapless tool of the Banksters, and if I had a blind, three-legged pet aardvark, I know he'd see that the official, embarrassingly-bogus story is not actually supported by actual, objectively-verifiable evidence.]

Seriously, does anyone notice that none of those who are worried about overpopulation volunteers to "BE" the solution by jumping off the nearest cliff? Where is their strength to live according to their convictions?

Frankly, I wouldn't take ANY crap from such people, any more than I do from ill-informed, meddling people who feel the need to comment when they seem me smoking. They tell me it's bad for my health, etc., and I tell them it is not as dangerous as telling strangers what they should or should not do. Oddly, none of them ever has anything to say in response.

Tele, I never defended what Lua/Iolanthe said in your regard, here or at FE.  That is all in your head.  You went absolutely ape-sh*t on me before I had even read any of it, calling me a liar even as I was telling you I simply had no knowledge of the exchanges that precipitated the mega-insanity that spilled over into CI like a tornado moving at mach 3.  You didn't believe me then; it seems you do not believe me now. On that particular point, I don't care what you think and you can shove it (and that is as kindly as I can put it).  As for your take on these matters, it is crystal clear that you and I will never see eye to eye.  So be it.  I sincerely and ardently pray that God may bless and keep you -- but spare me the Righteous, Pure Victim nonsense...as your own behavior has made it absolutely impossible for me to buy such crap.

FWIW, claiming to profess the Faith and actually professing it are different things.  IOW, the "faith" they actually profess is not, in fact, the Catholic Faith.  It is more like a dogma-less humanitarian cupcake with enough Catholic sprinkles to fool the mindless, spineless masses.

Matthew's reasons for setting it up this way are sound.  Once you've given a certain percentage of thumbs up or thumbs down to the same user, you get cut off.  That's to prevent either a determined supporter or disliker from inflating an individual's numbers one way or another.  So, for instance, I might be inclined to thumb down 99% of a certain user's posts because I strongly disagree with their position.

So I am in fact banned from thumbing down LoT any more  :laugh1:

If you don't grasp that things are, in fact , about to escalate...you may take my word that they are...and you know damn well what I mean...for even the spinelessness of Traddieland's clerics cannot conceal your perversion forever...

Take a few deep breaths...knowing that I will soon be pushing...HARD...to grind your sorry asses to powder...and you know darn well I have the ammo and the fortitude...

And even if they do not actually possess the virtue of faith, they at least claim to profess it and that is sufficient for Church membership.

    Priceless!  Thank you!!!

So I guess that makes us "even-steven" at least in the case of LOT.

I guess we would have cancelled eachother out even without these checks in place.

  • Here are some more gems from Gladius Veritatis.
My favorite is the one I put in bold:

I do not mean to rain on anyone's parade, but no one in Traddieland is fit to mend the many holes in St. Jean Vianney's threadbare cassock, carry his moldy potato as suppertime approaches, etc. Quantity is not quality and increases in the former do not have any direct connection to the latter.

I don't know if you've noticed, but I can, at times, state things...er...a little too strongly. :laugh1: VERY late on the 4th, which is when I (hastily and unadvisedly) wrote what you quoted, I was listening to The Foggy Dew while in the midst of a...shall we say...dewey fog :)

Look, PIO221, just because you are 4'2" and have hair on your back like a gorilla doesn't mean the rest of us are obsesses about height!

I just want a woman, of four or six or eight feet, to hold through the night :)
    LOL!
Say what ye must...do what ye must...

I know your story and will embarrass you...
Go vent your spleen elsewhere. You have been kicked off multiple times...
Shut your sorry mouth and I may very well have mercy...
As much as you may know about this or that, I know more...and you would be wise to RETIRE...
LET GO and grasp that the controversies of Traddieland do not need you :)

That is only because you wouldn't know the virtue if it kicked you so hard in the teeth that you were impaled ass-upwards in the loftiest canopy of the most ancient and lofty forest...

Not as creepy as a man who is dead in the water and has been kicked off multiple times...and only has one lame-ass response...
Go find a large animal carcass to beat and take out your many frustrations...

So, do any other members here deal with this incredible temptation such as I have explained?

Keep fighting.  You have not lost this battle until and unless you leave the battlefield.  The life of man upon earth is a warfare; the principal enemy looks us in the mirror every morning.

I agree completely.  Let him come on the site, openly or anonymously.  Everything he touches turns to dung at this point and he is constitutionally incapable of keeping his mouth shut (yes, I know I am rather loquacious, too).  He is undoing himself; let him carry on...by whatever means he thinks are best...

Tony Baloney is all about money, so he is projecting his own twisted ideas onto a dead, well-beloved, saintly man whose sincerity is not open to question. What a complete sack.
BTW, the last time I was at the Abbey, Abbot Leonard said that AC (and his partners in crime) did not "know his ass from a hole in the ground." That sums it up nicely.

Again, this I find very significant, and I believe there is a great, pious wisdom to follow suit, especially today.

Good for you.  I disagree.  Silence, especially at this late hour, as the satanic Money Masters seek to complete the enslavement of the entire world, is the wrong course.  There are times when silence is criminal; this is one of them.

If you think silence is the wiser course, I feel certain that no one will stop you from pursuing it :)

The pros have reason to be BIASED in what they say -- men like me do not.  Still, that does not mean that all amateurs know their asses from a hole in the ground, or that there are NO pros who know WTF is going on (although it is crystal clear the vast majority do not know enough to be of more use than a decoder ring from a box of Fruit Loops).

The post above was started at Jiffy Lube and completed at Subway, as I was interrupted by the Lube-Maestro after a sentence or two.  If anything seems incomplete, etc., I beg your pardon.

I am flattered that my ever-active anti-fan club have thumbs-downed a simple post at the top of this page (and all posts on the previous page).
Why don't y'all go sniff (or even drink) gallons of paint? It might prove more useful. Your implacable hatred not only "improves" my rep, for whatever that is or is not worth, but continues to make your own peace an impossibility. I'd call you funny and entertaining names, but all I feel for you is pity (but not that much).

Either you had a different username when I was at FE, or you arrived there after I was shown the door despite having broken no rules (2006-ish?) -- Vox, whom I still love dearly, wanted to take things a direction which, so she thought, could not involve me (which is absurd, as I have the most universally-agreeable personality this side of the grave...just ask me...).

Is this idea fundamentally flawed?  Does it break any rules?  Should I just leave?  I do not wish to inflict myself on people who do not want me.

    Absolutely not.  Welcome :)
[Still, I would be happy if you could try to refrain from "inflicting" yourself "upon" me...sounds kinda painful or messy or somethin...]

...someone said you dress like Novus Ordo's during mass...

Then it must be true...although personally I prefer (in warmer weather) to go to Mass in my birthday suit, sitting up front for all to see ;)

We are church militant out praying in front of abortion clinics, converting Novus Ordo's to tradition or having friendly gatherings with other SSPXers.

You might not believe it but that is pretty much par for the course in SV chapels, too. Sure, every person might not participate, but many do.  BTW, don't dislocate your shoulder when you pat yourself on the back...

    Quote:
I personally don't recall you personally having said anything wrong towards us.

Well, you just said a few uninformed things about "us", but I feel certain no one will take any real offense as no actual harm or offense was intended.

Cheerio...gotta go back into my isolation cell and dream of beating defenseless women and children...
