  •   Nowadays, having 'old population' is a cause of pride for any Country. They say:" Greater health, better life and less birth" causes a great percentage of a nation to be above 60. The developed first world is being old and proud of it.
But Iran is a Young nation with 70 percent of people being under the age of 30 according to some sources. Still, the official statistics say that the average Iranian person is 27 year old.
"Too many young people, too much demand, too many mouths, causes rebellion, unrest and crime." say those modernists.
       What is your idea?

A geriatric population is a feeble-minded and dying population.

Who is saying that?  I mean, I know I've heard it before, like on some stupid t.v. docuмentary.  Anyway, what is their problem with youth?  They didn't seem to have any problem turning them into cultural revolutionaries, in America, in The 1960s.  Are old people supposed to be more docile and controllable?  This stuff seems like someone yelling fire, where there isn't one.

  •   I think it was 2 years ago when our President warned everyone that people had to have more children as Iran is heading toward a geriatric population. Then all those liberal groups made such a big fuss, saying that a young population is destructive.

  • About ten years ago the Sri Lankan authorities began to realize that their successful family planning programs would in the medium future, leave them with an aging population and a migrant labor force. They said that they would henceforth encourage families to have more children, but I don't know if that happened.
