  • I received a call this morning from my husband after he left for work.  He called to tell me that someone had gotten into his truck last night and stole (this is the part you won't believe), his rosary (no not the new one, our anniversary isn't until tomorrow) and an antique rosary meditations booklet.  :cussing: The only other thing to go missing, was the change in the ashtray. The $20 tire pressure gauge is still there, as well as all the CDs.  Oh, and they left the dog biscuits.  Dear God, what is this world coming to?

Now this is interesting.  They stole his Rosary (good thing you already bought him another), rosary meditation booklet and loose change.  Maybe they needed the change to light a vigil candle in the local Church while they were praying the Rosary and meditating on the mysteries?

Yes he did, Panic in Detroit.  He made the mistake of singing that song when playing a venue in Detroit, and vowed never to sing that song here again.  It seems there was quite a panic caused by overzealous fans at the mere mention of Detroit.  :good-shot:

That's what I suspected when I first read Cherly's post. Rosaries worn around the neck is the fad among those in the hip hop music industry and among wanna-be rappers and gang-bangers. If someone is going to break in to a car and steal something, I doubt they would be using the rosary for prayer.

  • We just lost a rosary about a week ago.

We live on a street where you have to pick up your mail at the community mail boxes -- like a lot of subdivisions, only ours doesn't have a sign or a name (or a homeowners association).

Anyhow, I got my mail one day and I believe I left my rosary on top of the mailboxes. I realized it when we were about a mile or two away; but we figured it would still be there when we got back, as we were only going to be gone for about an hour, our street isn't that large or populated, and let's face it, the rosary wasn't made of gold or silver -- it wasn't even expensive. Just an average rosary.

Well, it wasn't there when we got back. So somebody STOLE our rosary. And yes, you can't just take a rosary someone left at the mailboxes with any excuse, "If I don't take it, the next person will." or "The person won't be by here again." because these are mailboxes that everyone has to visit regularly, most people drive by them every day, and our neighborhood isn't that large!

It was my wife's rosary, from before she met me. It had a JP2 "broken cross" crucifix, a Divine Mercy medal in the middle -- that's the one consolation: it wasn't that great of a rosary.

Still, it's sad that someone had to steal it.

You know Alex, that was my first thought, but why the booklet?  The rosary was on the seat, and the booklet tucked up in the visor.  I'm thinking it's the nut case next door.  According to his wife he recently went through his books, CDs and DVDs and got rid of those that he considered obscene.  He also made a list of which variations of the marital act were wrong and could no long be participated in.  And the icing on the cake...he had his wife drive to Sandusky, Ohio to Cedar Point amusement park, and after the paid something like $20 dollars to park, told her that they had to leave and go home.  Why?  Because according to him, the entire state of Michigan was going to blow up at 3:45 that day and they had to get back.  Yep, he's my prime suspect.  If someone did take it to wear it, all they got was a $1.75 rosary from, Our Lady of the Rosary Library.  It's the booklet I'm upset about.  It was from the early 1940's and each of the mysteries started with beautiful artwork of that mystery.  They weren't illustrations, but copies of paintings.

Last year on Our Lady's B day, I had my purse snatched in the parking lot of a grocery store.
The thieves were caught.  I got back 40.00 of the 75.00 I had in my wallet.  The thieves threw my purse away.  But guess what, you guessed it, They had kept my Rosary.  I got it back!

  • Im sorry that yall lost your rosaries. I know the feeling.

But I think we can still hope that the rosaries you lost will act as mirrors of God's grace while they are in the possession of those who stole them. I mean, after all.... how many people get their rosaries blessed when they intend to just wear them as Jєωelry? A person can still obtain graces just from wearing a rosary. So the persons who took them most likely are slipping on Our Lady's snare right now.

You are so right Catholic!  I was surprised that of all the items I had in my purse, this young man  kept my rosary, and had it on his person when he was arrested.
