  • I attend a FSSP parish. I have always considered myself traditional.

I attended my first CMRI mass this week as well as a SSPX Mass. I was blown away. The homilies were a breath of fresh air. I was finally around like minded Catholics who love the true faith. It was inspirational.

I have many people to thank on this website for giving me the courage to take that first step.

Pray for me on this journey

    .
    Regina Angelorum, ora pro nobis!

  • Praise God!
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • Thank you for your kind words and prayers.

I thought there would be a feeling of alienation. How wrong I was. There is a feeling of finally being united with the true faithful. Not a watered down feel good type of feeling. A real tangible awareness.
    I feel hopeful and excited.

  • I had the same experience when I visited my SSPX Chapel for the first time. I felt finally at home. I am very happy for you!
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • I'm curious how your experience was like at the FSSP parish
and how was the CMRI and SSPX different? Especially since
all three groups say the same mass. We're the sermons better at
the SSPX and CMRI . Did the priests appear to be more holy?

    Thank you and God bless!

  • I would say the priests were more zealous. There was a more relevant homily than I am used to. The priests obviously were not handcuffed by what they could say. The people present were along the same lines in dress and demeanour as the FSSP parish. Maybe slightly more strict and severe. Of course, there was a dose of bashing the new church, which I appreciated.

Now the challenge is that there is no CMRI chapel anywhere near my home. Closest is across the border and 4 hour drive. SSPX is closer. We'll have to start praying.

  • I forgot to add that the mass at the FSSP parish is good but the homily was full of pro new church garbage.

I am still a little confused about the valid ordination controversy. But, I have problems supporting the FSSP when they seem to support V2 and consequently the novus ordo church.

The CMRI chapel was enlightening. Something special.

I have a love for the Good Bishop, so I have a soft spot in my heart for the SSPX.

Yeah, FSSP sermons tend to have a lot of that in them.

And sadly, this is now the direction of development for the
ExSPX.  I expect that within a year ExSPX parishes will be
indistinguishable from FSSP, at this current rate of change.

The change in the form used for ordination happened in 1970.
But the bishop's form of consecration was changed in 1968.
We just passed the 45th anniversary on June 23rd. It's now
45 years of Newbishops.  Note: it took ABL 20 years (1988)
to consecrate bishops according to the old form.
