I just received the freakiest e-mail from an aquaintance. It is a slideshow of a David Copperfield illusion. The slideshow has a picture of Copperfield staring at you and then words appear (which are supposed to be Copperfield talking) that tell you that you are about to witness an amazing illusion. Then it shows you 6 different cards and words appear that tell you to pick a card and think about it. Only to think on it and not to touch a card or click on a card. Then the cards disappear and the words tell you, "Look into my [Copperfield's] eyes and I can read your mind." AFterwards, 5 cards appear - one is missing, and the missing card is supposed to be the one that you were thinking about.
This is mind-baffling! I ran the slideshow 8 different times, and all 8 times the card I chose was the missing card!!!! This is really freaky! I have a pretty good guess as to how magicians do this when they have a real live person in front of them - ie. the cards are marked, one card is positioned sligtly different than the rest so that your eye will notice it more and you will choose it as your card, or the magician looks at which card your eye gaze is rests longer on - but how do you explain this happening via computer?!
Then at the end of the slide show, these words appear, YOU HAVE SEVEN DAYS LEFT AFTER READING THIS MESSAGE...UNLESS YOU SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS.
Is this demonic? Am I cursed?
And what is extra scary is this: This is the second post on the same topic. I wrote this earlier but when I pushed the "Create Topic" button the message disappeared. I thought that maybe the webpage was down so, immediately after, I created another post with just a title but no content - that is why you see a post titled "fsa" but nothing written when you click. As you see, the "fsa" post went through.
