  • I just received the freakiest e-mail from an aquaintance. It is a slideshow of a David Copperfield illusion. The slideshow has a picture of Copperfield staring at you and then words appear (which are supposed to be Copperfield talking) that tell you that you are about to witness an amazing illusion. Then it shows you 6 different cards and words appear that tell you to pick a card and think about it. Only to think on it and not to touch a card or click on a card. Then the cards disappear and the words tell you, "Look into my [Copperfield's] eyes and I can read your mind." AFterwards, 5 cards appear - one is missing, and the missing card is supposed to be the one that you were thinking about.

This is mind-baffling! I ran the slideshow 8 different times, and all 8 times the card I chose was the missing card!!!! This is really freaky! I have a pretty good guess as to how magicians do this when they have a real live person in front of them - ie. the cards are marked, one card is positioned sligtly different than the rest so that your eye will notice it more and you will choose it as your card, or the magician looks at which card your eye gaze is rests longer on - but how do you explain this happening via computer?!

Then at the end of the slide show, these words appear, YOU HAVE SEVEN DAYS LEFT AFTER READING THIS MESSAGE...UNLESS YOU SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS.

Is this demonic? Am I cursed?

And what is extra scary is this: This is the second post on the same topic. I wrote this earlier but when I pushed the "Create Topic" button the message disappeared. I thought that maybe the webpage was down so, immediately after, I created another post with just a title but no content - that is why you see a post titled "fsa" but nothing written when you click. As you see, the "fsa" post went through.

  • Say the prayer to Saint Michael. I think you will be fine, however I do believe those magicians dabble in things that cause demons to hear and act upon their requests. I have noticed that some of the modern magicians I get shivers when they appear on the news with their latest exploits. The modern ones do not even try to hide the fact that they are occultists.
What is sad is that so many more children are brought into this mess thanks to that twaddle writer J.K. Rowlings.

  • Don't worry, if those forward emails are anything to go by I should have died at least twelve times in the past year, been cursed with bad luck many more times, lost the love of my life as least twice and proved that I'm heartless, have no respect for the troops, don't care about the starving and have no friends!  :roll-laugh1:

On a more serious note though, many of these bizarre emails and things, although ridiculous in their claims, do carry viruses or tracker cookies. Leave them well alone and delete them.

Look at the cards carefully. NONE of the original cards come up the second time. The trick is subsituting  smiliar cards. By looking at his "eyes" you're not paying attention to the cards. Simple diversion, nothing demonic nor supernatural.

You're right!! Thanks! Boy, do I feel like an idiot.

I got really scared there for a while. I've seen chain letters before (where they say you will die if you don't forward the e-mail to friends) and have never taken them seriously. But because this particular e-mail appeared to have worked real magic (hense it would be demonic if it was real) I thought the devil would mess with me in some sort of way. But still, I never forwarded the e-mail to anyone because I don't want anyone to get scared and think that if they didn't forward it they would die in 7 days. I did, however, e-mail the guy who sent it and wrote, "Sorry, but I do not find threats entertaining."
