CathMom, that was a cynicism. I apologize. I still think that if you stick to being scandalized by the scandal threads, you won't pick up any ignores. Like you, I discovered that anger hurts only me. As St. James said, man's anger does not work God's justice. So in the thread where you and I alone spoke of mercy, I thought perhaps you got it for being another sweetsie romanticist, an epithet which offends me to the core.

In other words, we should look at Our Lord's life and keep things in proportion. Yes, there is a time for zeal and righteous indignation, but it shouldn't be our everyday state. We must have peace in our soul, and not obsess over evil which will always be in the world. There is a time to get angry, and a time to not let it bother us.

You need to read "True Devotion to Mary" by St. Louis de Montfort.

Honor given to Mary is *never* prejudicial (at the expense of) honor given to Our Lord. Just for starters, we honor Mary BECAUSE SHE IS THE MOTHER OF JESUS.

We don't honor Mary separately from Jesus -- as if we just like Mary's face, voice, personality, etc. No, we love and honor her because she was chosen by God to be the Mother of God, and she is so beloved by Jesus. We do the will of God by honoring her, because God wants her honored!

It's SO easy to see that you're not Catholic when you fail to understand Mary, and God's economy of salvation.

Protestants, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, animists, etc. don't honor Mary. Catholics do.

Very true. I think it should be noted also that Our Lord spoke multiple times against the perpetrators of the evil before taking forceful action. We know He condemned the pharisees for their wickedness a good number of times in the Gospels.

Our Lord besides driving the commercialists from the temple, He also destroyed the fig tree for bearing no fruit. Also we should not forget all that God did by His own Power in the Old Testament... the great flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gamorah, and commanded the Israelites slay the priests of Baal, etc. ... it was the same God who never changes, and came down and died for us and who loves us more than anything. He is a God of Love and Justice, between which there is no separation or contradiction.

Your beliefs concerning Our Lady are heretical. Throughout the 2000 years of the Church's existence, Christians of the True Faith have always honored the Blessed Mother. Vatican I didnt invent any new doctrines. Veneration of the Blessed Mother has been the Tradition and Doctrine of the Catholic Church since the Death of Our Lord. The only people who reject the teachings of the Church about Our Lady are the heretics whom the Church condemned CENTURIES BEFORE VATICAN I! Your faith has nothing to do with the Apostolic Church of Christ. It's founded on a rejection of the Apostolic Tradition.

Thank you, Matthew. I have worked so hard on my anger and judgmental issues. I'm trying so hard to stay focused on Jesus, Mary, and the Saints so I can have some peace.

I do let loose every one in awhile though. My friend didn't visit for 4 days when she commented that "It was time to replace the "offensive" Abortion Kills Babies sign with the cheerful "Join Boy Scouts" advertisement." :argue:

Now then, just because it's only recorded in scripture once doesn't mean Our Lord didn't do that regularly! We're not Sola Scriptura protestants!

I have one ignore, but at one point I think I had 4, maybe 5. I really don't care who puts me on ignore. Do I like being put on ignore? Not really, but I don't let it get to me. Heck, I got two or three ignores one time just for using the dancing banana icon. If someone puts you on ignore, I would just brush it off and move on. I personally find the ignore option to be childish. All it does is hide posts from a person somebody doesn't like.

Excellent post Matthew. I could not agree with you more. I personally think that the next time Classicom bashes Mary or labels the Catholic Church as "Club Infallible", he should be banned. There is no excuse for his behavior. If he's going to post on a Traditional Catholic forum, he'd better have respect for Traditional Catholicism and unfortunetly he does not.
