  • Episcopus
    Supervisor
    Overseer

    All have the same denotation (meaning), though they certainly have different connotations.

    Episcopus is the Greek for overseer; it is the word Latin uses for bishop.

    So you could call a bishop an Overseer or a Supervisor.

    Of course, "Overseer" has a negative, Sith-like connotation, almost like "taskmaster". An overseer has to wear a black robe with a hood that hides the face, right?

    Just think: your supervisor at work might as well be called your "overseer".

    Super = over, above
    Visor = seer (one who sees)

    Actually it's a good job description of what a bishop SHOULD DO.

    "As the head of the Church, I cannot answer you otherwise: The Jєωs have not recognized Our Lord; therefore we cannot recognize the Jєωιѕн people." -Pope St. Pius X

    "No Jєω adores God! Who say so?  The Son of God say so."
