  • .

Imagine the problems that could have been avoided if we had taken that "charismatic moment" as proof that he had become mentally incompetent to hold the office of pope.

  • Are those jeans and T-shirts given as "gifts" considered second-class relics, now?

Anyway, woooooooo-woooooooo! may actually be one of JP's less problematic utterances.

It sure tops 99% of what his current descendant has said in public....

    "Make a mess!"    :jumping2:

    "To the FFI....."    :fryingpan:

    "Who am I to..."   :dancing-banana:

Don't laugh.  I've still got my milky white bead rosary in its plastic envelope.  They said at the time that was the first papal rosary made that had the image of a living pope on the centerpiece.  Also, it had his coat of arms on the back side.

It seems to me that Francis won't say, "Woooo-woooo-woooo," - 'cause it's worn out by JPII.

    Hey, that rhymes!

My favorite Ric Flair moment: He was being interviewed next to Dusty Rhodes, whom he was to face for the "title." (It's all choreographed, I know.) Dusty was running his mouth, and he said, "I'm de six-time 'champ-een' of de world! You know what dat means, Ric Flair?" Flair: "I'll tell ya what it means, fat boy: It means you've lost the title five times! Wooooo!" And he slapped him, and it was on.

To a certain age, maybe. I haven't watched it in 20-plus years. If you're still into it when you're 48, you have problems.

Very true. My nephew was crazy into that stuff when he was young. My brother-in-law got tickets for one of the shows and stuck me with them to take my nephew, because neither he or my sister could stand such an event.

  • I had never seen that video.  Whether he was a pope or antipope, it's an embarrassment to even be associated indirectly (as a Catholic) with such buffoonery.  I couldn't even watch it all.

  • As I recall, at the time people tried to defend this silliness by saying that it was a normal way to show appreciation in Poland.  Does anyone know if there is even a shred of reality to that?
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir
