I'm hoping that the server allows us to go back to 10 posts per page instead of 5.

The five per page is growing on me now that I'm accustomed to moving to the next page after #5 and not thinking that the thread has stopped there. I think the new posts screen could be longer, though, as I don't think it's as resource-consuming as the topics themselves.

The thing that makes putting anything back difficult is that we don't actually know at any time how much of the server resources we're using. They said the official limit is 25% but that they don't shut a site down unless it's way over that. They've said we're "satisfactory" now, but we don't have a way to monitor it and adjust things accordingly. We could be way under or just slipping by ... who knows!

  • It appears Photobucket has hosting problems of their own.

There may not be scans for this Sunday.

I wasted so much time trying to figure out the problem yesterday, and I have a ten-hour shift ahead of me today.

Also, I think I am getting sick.

My own system may have "hosting problems" of its own.
Please ignore all that I have written regarding sedevacantism.

  • Sorry to hear, Hobbles. Prayers that you get over it quickly.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

Yeah, I'm getting used to it as well.

Thank you very much for the prayers!

Photobucket fixed the problem, and I will now try to have those scans uploaded as soon as I can edit them. A great portion thereof will have to wait until tomorrow, though.

I feel slightly better. Exhausted mostly. The weather here is fiercely warm but other places have it worse, so I should not complain.

Clare had to delete old accounts from IA because InvisionFree is only FREE if you have below a certain number of members.

I didn't have to. I just basically did it because I wanted to! I e-mailed the membership first asking for inactive members to opt out of the cull, and if they had all done so, I wouldn't have deleted any. I was just tidying up. OCD!

News to me! You may be right, but I'd not heard that.

  • I've just checked, and Invisionfree remains free regardless of how big one's forum gets.

You only have to pay if you want to get rid of adverts (and that's about $5 per 30,000 or so clicks - so the more active your forum, the more frequently you have to pay to remove the adverts.)

I used to pay for ad removal for a couple of years ($5 lasted about 3 weeks as I recall), but when it looked like I was going to be paying more often I stopped, and the funny thing is, the spaces for ads returned, but they are now blank, or just advertise Invisionfree itself.
