    I didn't know that 1/2 of all jobs created in the last year were created in Texas.
    I also didn't know that if Texas were a country, it would have the 12th largest economy in the world.

  • I wonder why houses are so cheap in Texas. You can get a nice sized house for just $100,000 (maybe even $80,000). Here in Southern California, the cheapest house you can hope to get would be around $300,000 (I believe).

  • Because Texas is so BIG there is plenty of land to go around. Houses never go up by much, because you can always prepare another few acres for another housing development.

    It caps the price of a house at:

    Building materials + labor + a few thousand dollars for the land.
