Recently I saw an interview with Sarah Palin in which she said that she views abortion to be a state's rights issue, one that the American people should vote, although personally she is agains it. We don't consider slavery or capital murder to be state's rights issues, why would we consider mass infanticide to be a state's rights isse. By saying that it is a matter the public should be voting on, she is saying that we have a right to choose whether or not to kill. I don't really see how that makes the McCain-palin position a better one then that of Obama-Biden. The differences between them simply seem to be a matter of semantics - the fundamentals are all still there: morality is a matter of personal belief; what may be immoral to me, may be justifiably moral to another.
