I know I'm gonna get slammed for this, and I'm not opposed to being wrong, but I don't really see the issue with Harry Potter, at least for an adult who is sound in his faith and isn't tempted to *actual* sorcery by works of fiction.
I grant that LOTR Is set up in a more "Catholic friendly" way and thus perhaps more edifying, but as far as I understand, HP also is set up with a dynamic that you're either born with magical ability or you aren't, so I don't see a parallel between that and any "real life" sorcery which would of course involve the demonic.
Unless I'm missing something with HP, I think its fine, with the understanding that, as with anything, it needs to be take in moderation, and a strong distinction between fiction and reality needs to be maintained, along with a strong emphasis on making sure people know their faith (which I do indeed think is missing in the NO)
