  • ...it must be because I was born a few DAYS before the end of the Church's year -- which symbolizes the end of the world!

One of the first things my ears heard was Matthew chapter 24 (Last Sunday after Pentecost), and then the Gospel for the 1st Sunday of Advent (St. Luke's version of the end time prophecy).

  • Well, technically it is -- though I think it's fine to draw attention to yourself once in a while -- especially if you have a good joke or want to poke fun at yourself.

    It's good for camaraderie.

  •  :laugh1: I sometimes wondered about that myself. I just thought it was because you are one of those people who grabs onto ideas and follows them to the farthest, logical conclusion. I guess there was more to it than that.

I can offer another reason though... he comes from a long line of people who habitually worry about things, and who are in general, very, very passionate. That one's probably the more likely.  :fryingpan:

It also gives everyone else a chance to poke, too.

  • I don't really need any openings to poke at ChantCD, but I do credit him for taking it very well (from where I sit anyway), and I have come to respect him for this.

  • Personally, I think there's every reason nowadays to be apocalyptic; just that worrying too much about it isn't healthy or holy.

Glad you're not taking it too seriously.

Of course it is.  So what?  I am just giving my old pal Mike a little ribbing.

When someone (like yourself and some others around here) makes a thread to be disparaging with no real purpose to create real conversation, other than promote an agenda of vitriol, than it serves no purpose other than to incite anger and promote personal prideful envy and is worthy of exposure.

If you can't figure out the difference of when I do and don't do it than you are willfully blind. I'm not on a war-path, I just don't like ego posts that only serve to inflame others without there being a desire to create meaningful conversation.
    God bless,
    Michael Solimanto

  • Well, lighthearted chatting with one's acquaintances isn't entirely meaningless. In fact, I was recently lamenting the fact that there is really no way to do that on here. Sometimes you just want to be in good company, even if you have nothing very earth shattering to say.

After all, we can't all be apocalyptic all of the time.
