  • I should clarify -- I have nothing against Bishop Katherine in particular -- but I, as a man, could never follow some woman with a hairdo, earrings, lipstick, a woman's voice, etc. as an authority figure.

She might be a nice wife, mother, etc. but she could never be a good bishop.

God meant for men to be the leaders, especially for His Church -- that's why their nature is such from the time they are born.

Even the post-Vatican II Catholic Church hasn't sunk to the depths of having female ministers.

Anyhow, I understand why Catholics give up "altogether" when they stop going to Mass every Sunday. They might want to follow sin, some vice, laziness, the world, etc. but why bother with sentimental nonsense like you get in most protestant faiths?

Sounds like a trad talking. See how they love one another might include  some sentimental nonsense. Of course that would be a layman's attribute that the rigid structure of the infallibles would not accommodate.

  • Sorry, Classiccom, the Old Catholics aren't part of the Church Christ founded any more than the Methodists.

It figures you'd take issue with this, considering you're a Protestant yourself. Breaking away from the true Catholic Faith because you're against the doctrine of the infallibility of the Pope.

I know that I give leeway to all things Crisis on this board --

But when I talk about the Crisis in the Church, and the leeway thereof, I'm referring to what happened in the Church in the 1960's -- not the 1860's!

If the Church collapsed in the 1860's, the world would have already ended by now.

Any movement that refers to St. Pius X as "one of those 'infallibles'" is ludicrous.

Gee, I wonder who her handlers are?

  • Yes, exactly.

Why the hebrew word Shalom? Since, as pointed out, it is used by a small minority of only 14 million people worldwide. The Jєωs are a small group even compared to other minority groups.

  • And of those 14 million Jєωs, probably only the religious ones use it. I know Jєωs and I've never heard one them use that greeting, even with other Jєωs, unless their using it self-consciously to poke fun at the fact that they are so disconnected from their heritage. So lets cut that number down to, say, 7 million.
