  • It is the sin of superstition and against the first commandment.
    Pray for me, always.

  • Hi, amariec!

Divination (from Latin divinare "to foresee, to be inspired by a god", related to divinus, divine) is the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of a standardized process or ritual. Diviners ascertain their interpretations of how a querent should proceed by reading signs, events, or omens, or through alleged contact with a supernatural agency.  from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divination

Astrology, the reading of horoscopes, is a kind of divination.

    4 Kings 21:6

6 And he made his son pass through fire: and he used divination, and observed omens, and appointed pythons, and multiplied soothsayers to do evil before the Lord, and to provoke him.

    Deuteronomy 18:10-12

10 Neither let there be found among you any one that shall expiate his son or daughter, making them to pass through the fire: or that consulteth soothsayers, or observeth dreams and omens, neither let there be any wizard, 11 Nor charmer, nor any one that consulteth pythonic spirits, or fortune tellers, or that seeketh the truth from the dead. 12 For the Lord abhorreth all these things, and for these abominations he will destroy them at thy coming.

The Lord wants us to trust in Him and not use other means to make things come out in our favor, perhaps in a way contrary to His Will.
St. Jude, who, disregarding the threats of the impious, courageously preached the doctrine of Christ,
    pray for us.
