People choose to live in Earthquake zones (Japan, California, etc.), in places below sea level (Katrina), in high-profile skyscrapers (Twin Towers), etc.
But a baby can't up and decide to "move" form the womb he is in. He has to stay, even if the mom decides to hire a doctor to send in a suction device to destroy him. The baby is MORE helpless and vulnerable than any child or adult human being ever could be.
Besides, when you look at the NUMBERS, the death toll of Abortion dwarfs all other human tragedies -- the nαzι atrocities during WW2, the subsequent Communist atrocities against the Germans, 9/11, and natural disasters like Haiti, Indonesia Tsunami, Katrina, etc.
It's hard to compare a pre-born baby -- who never got to see the light of day -- with children and adults who at least got to live for one or more decades. Even the children who died in the Tsunami (etc) got to experience life for a while. And at least it was an act of nature (such happens in this Valley of Tears), and not a premeditated, PERSONAL act of murder, conspired to by a doctor and the mother herself!
An 8 year old whose life was snuffed out by the Indonesia Tsunami at least doesn't have the burden of knowing that his own MOTHER was the cause of his death. The 8-year-old victim can take refuge in the consolation that "It's not personal." The aborted baby cannot.
