Which sacramentals make up your everyday carry?

  • Which sacramentals do you have with you daily?

I wear a Brown scapular with a Miraculous Medal and St Benedict Medal, my Rosary with the indulgenced Confraternity blessed, and trying to get back into wearing a St Philomena cord.

    How about you?
Please disregard everything I have said; I have tended to speak before fact checking.

  • Brown Scapular, Miraculous Medal (very sturdy, been wearing it for years now. Could use another one but have never found anything of such good quality.), Green Scapular, Rosary - with the usual Roman blessing, as well as the Dominican blessing.

I used to wear a cross but, the corpus fell off somewhere and have not been wearing one since... Its sad, as it was to a very very old rosary my grandma had. It was a German style cross. I've noticed that very old crucifixes from Germany have a certain style and look in the halo around Jesus' head.

  • Brown scapular, green scapular, miraculous medal.

By the way Qi, you may be able to find a replacement corpus at a beading shop.  I have found them there in the past.  Just the corpus that I could affix to a barren cross.  Not as nice as your German one though I'm sure.

Oh! Thank you for that idea! It was never thought of before.

  • Yes, an essential item, but, umm, not a sacramental  ;D, even if blessed.

  • I'd like to get holsters like that for the men in my family, where did you get it?  Or did you attach the medal yourself?

Bonded on hard as concrete with a good epoxy.

Suggest using a dremel to carve-out a precise hole in polymer gun handles to fit one of the tiny 1/4 inch diameter St. Benedict's medals.

You can hold it in with epoxy too.
That way it's a planar fit and the grip won't catch onto the holster when you're drawing the gun.  :farmer:

  • Miraculous medal given to me by a friend when I reverted. My convert husband replaced my brown scapular I received as a child (pre-V2). A small cross. I also carry a St. Benedict medal. My childhood rosary (smaller beads are easier on my fingers).

Consider that a gun could be used for good or evil .

Shooting you would be evil... I think?  My intention is not to use the gun in a sinful way.
And the St. Benedict's medal is to protect against using the gun for evil.

But then, dipping the bullets in Holy water, may insure they hit their mark.   :cowboy:

It depends whether I'm in a state of grace?  :incense:
