Title: Where to find a Latin Mass?
Post by: gobosox91 on April 19, 2012, 11:10:37 AM
I am curious as to where i can find a Latin mass. There is a church about an hour and a half away from my house that is solely pre-Vatican II, but there is a church across the river that is still in the pre-Vatican II architectural setup, but holds Vatican II beliefs, and one of the priests says mass in Latin. Can I go there?

You are one of the most forttunate souls on planet earth. There are traditional Roman Catholic masses in several area in Connecticut. In he Bridgeport area, you have Our Lady of The Rosary Chapel on Main Street, Monroe, Ct. In the Milfor area, you have Our Lady of Sorrows on Spring Street in Orange. In the Danbury area, you have Christ The KIng Church, Tackors Trail, Ridgefield, Ct. In Hartford area, you have St Lawrence mission or Sacred Heart Church in Lowell, Ma.

I woyuld not recommend any of the indult locations, although there are several. The people that attend them are largely uninformed, are thoroughly within the camp of new church of the new advent, and many simply attend out of nostalgia or preference, not because it is the only real public worship of God.

Close to Connecticut, you have Bp Kelly's Chapel in Oyster Bay Cove, Long Island; Father DePauw's  chapel on Long Island, Bp Kelly's Convent and Seminary in Round Top, New York, and Fr. Collins' Chapel in Mass above Litchfield.
So, there is precious little excuse for not finding a trulyCatholic Mass in Connecticut. All bets are off if the SSPX falls for the lies of the vatican and agrees to join rome. So beware.
