  • I live in Illinois and remember when it was Republican country. Thanks to the fact that the Republicans here of late are crooks and thiefs and stupid ones at that, cause they get caught, this state is reeking of liberal stench. We can claim Immanuel, and the Barak Obama now as well as Dick "Turbin Head" Durbin and our govenor who looks like a gnome and allots tens of millions each year for this building he had started for embryonic stem cell research(read slaughterhouse for babies).
When I was younger I would daydream and think  when the end comes my state should be relatively safe it is quite boring. Now, with these demons in charge and Fermi-Lab doing God only knows what I am afraid Illinois will be close to the top on God's hit list.

Have you never heard, Clare, that the sins of the fathers shall be visited upon the sons?

    That's just a prophecy.

It's not an encouragement for us to visit the sins of fathers upon their sons! Just a statement that that's what'll happen!

A bit like "scandals will come, but woe to him through whom they come".

    Clare.

You lost me on the "just" a prophecy comment.

    By "just" a prophecy, I wasn't saying it's unimportant.

I was saying that it wasn't an encouragement to punish a man on account of his father's sins, rather that it was "just" saying that that will inevitably happen.

If, however, I misunderstood the term "visiting", I'll rethink!

    Clare.

    Hi Clare,
I don't necessarily look at it that way, more like 'skeletons in the closet'. My concern is where does Rahm's loyalty lie, with the U S or Israel. If with the U S then why not join the U S military instead of the israeli military as he did?

I suppose I was baulking at all the emphases on his father being a terrorist.

Of course, his joining the Israeli military does bring his loyalties into question. But that detail stands on its own, without all the references to his father's crimes, as if he were responsible for them.

    Clare.
