Did Christ have anger with the money changers? That was justified. To the point of killing? Yes. What is the opposite? Pray for the enemy is what Christ said. St. Paul, would you have killed him? before Christ knocked him off his horse. Hate the sin and not the sinner. We pray for newness to convert the person. The person you hate, so you say, has someone who actually can pray for them, you, because you know a different way to handle the situation. You may have the most power at your hands, the power of the Precious Blood, which is in all the sacraments.
I have a friend, who has family members who were killed, dismembered by Muslims. I am sure she had strong feelings against muslims. As catholics, we pray for conversion. Our prayers are multiplied by the host of heaven and purgatory. It will take time, or may take time, to gradually get to this point of thinking. We don't have the power, but the power is there, for to forgive in divine, it takes the Graces to gradually get there.
I was given the suggestion to pray 3 rosaries a day. I have to admit, it makes a difference if I do or if I don't. Share your sorrows with Our Lady.
