  • In Novus Ordo weddings, they have parties, or "bachanals", just like the ones people do anywhere.

I read it wasn't like this before V2.

  • References?

Which do you mean - parties or bacchanals?
If the former, is not a marriage a cause for celebration?

  • I meant to say dancing.

I have a 19th century book called "Balls and Dancing Parties Condemned by the Scriptures, Holy Fathers, Holy Councils, and most renowned Theologians of the Church".

Chapter 11 is called "Dances forbidden at Nuptials".

  • Disputaciones, do you mean dancing during the ceremony or otherwise still inside the church building?

I did not know they did that, not even in the NO.

  • I can assure you that there was dancing at wedding celebrations pre-Vatican II.

Perhaps certain kinds of dances, but I have got to imagine that there was dancing at the Wedding at Cana.

I must agree.  There was absolutely and unequivocally dancing at wedding receptions pre-Vatican II.  Was it the same type of dancing that goes on today, certainly not.  But there was dancing nonetheless.  My grandmother tells me that there was even dancing at Irish receptions following a funeral.

Because it is my understanding that there was dancing at Jєωιѕн weddings in Biblical times.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.

This is what I should have written:

When did they start making the dance floor of the wedding reception into a disco, a club? They have those lights that shoot off all kinds of colors and shapes etc., they play modern, loud, vulgar, degenerate "music" and then "dance" as if they were in a pagan bachanal, a modern-day "party" etc.

This is what I was referring to. The reception now becomes a club or a godless party.

Not sure how long the disco floors have been around but the pagan bachanal thing has been around since St John the Baptist I think
