  • One of the things in life that I find very interesting are the 4 temperments,Choleric, Sanguine, Melencholic and Phlegmatic. If you dont know what I am talking about you can read the book Personality Plus which is a really good book and explains the Temperments perfectly. I remember this one post about the Melencholic temperment that Cathinfo was disscussing but I dont think their is a post like this. So post what kind of temperment are you.

  • Predominetly Plegmatic, secondarily a Choleric.  I know that is a weird combination but I have proven that is possible for you dominant and secondary temperments to be complete opposites!  You try being the oldest in a large family and see if you don't get some cholericness mixed into your personality.

  • I am probably Sanguine/Melancholic. May also have some choleric, but I'd say that I'm predominately Melancholic.

In regards to being a responsible man, would it be interesting to learn, after six years of accuмulating all the wisdom you could, that you had it right all alon

  • I am mostly melancholic with some phlegmatic, for I tend to the gloomy and somber but like things to be constant and unchanging.

  • According to some website, I am 73% phlegmatic and 27% sanguine. I have no idea what that means.

  • The phlegmatic temperament is peaceful, introverted, and tends to avoid conflict.  They are easy going.  But, this can go to far which leads to a fault, which can lead to laziness and sloppiness.

I have never met a phlegmatic that I did not like, they tend to be nice people.

  • Thank you Spiritus for that link, I took the test and according to results I am  Melencholic.

My question and I hope someone comes along with an answer or at least an opinion.

When God creates our soul does He infuse our personality within it?

Also: If God knows all things, does He know when He creates our soul if we will win Heaven?

I was pondering just this morning, that very point.  If God knows at the moment our soul is created and before it is infused within the fetus that we will not cooperate with His grace, is He then creating something evil?

    Can God create an evil?

Then my mind started to think of the fallen angels and did God know which angels would fall before He created them?  If yes, then is God creating an evil?

I can't imagine that God can and will create an evil, it is easier for me to think that at the second He creates a soul, He does not know if the soul will eventually save its soul or not.

    Please what do you think?
    Please pray for my soul.

  • Those are interesting explanations at fish eaters.  I can see how my temperament has changed dramatically over the years.

    Ah, a fellow Melancholic! Nice.

That's somewhat of a difficult question for me to answer. While I would be inclined to say yes, personalities can also change over time. For instance, when I was younger I'd say I was more of a Sanguine than a Melancholic, because I was very energetic and outgoing, whereas a Melancholic is more quiet and prefers to be alone as opposed to socialising. Within the last several years, however, although I'm more outgoing than the average Melancholic, I have become a bit more quiet and laid back.

Most of the traits of a Melacholic - sensitive, artistic, easily embarassed, low self-confidence at certain times, etc. - fit me to a tee. I'd also say I'm still partly Sanguine, which explains why I'm more outgoing and talkative than the average Melancholic, but I've become more Melancholic over the years.

    Yes.

No, God creates good, He only allows evil.

God knew what angels would would fall, but He created all of them good.

    I hope this helps.

  • @ ServusSpiritusSancti: whoa! How can you be melancholic AND sanguine??? To me that sounds almost impossible, considering they're practiclly opposites!!   :scratchchin:

Have no idea what I am... sanguine... cholaric...melancholic...phlegmatic...

  • Well, a majority of people are a combination of two temperaments. I've heard of some people who are a mix of Melancholic and Choleric, now THAT seems odd, because those temperaments are exact opposites. The Sanguine temperament is a little closer to Melancholic than the Choleric temperament is.

For those who are uncertain what temperament what they are, they can take the test here:
