Author Topic: What do you do to keep God in your every day life? (Read 654 times)

Maybe this is just a problem that I have, but over the course of a day, I feel as if I get so caught up in things, that I forget about God.
I downloaded this for my internet browser http://newsdailynow.com/2015/11/21/daily-bible/ The thought is that I am on my
computer hours a day, so it will always be in my sight, and I can look through passages if I need a break from whatever I am doing.

Do you all think that is a good idea, or is it bad that I need a reminder like this?

Everyone is unique and everyone does not do the same,
it is a fact we need Sanctifying Grace with a good prayer
life to have our faith strong and to be sure of being able
to enter Heaven upon our death. Prayer keeps us in tune
as exercise is for the body. So do your best and ask for
help from God often, Then it will also build character.

The problem might be WHY you're on your computer hours a day.
Is it paying work or just for fun?

Meditating on a "virtue". Here is a good site Twelve Catholic Virtues
One virtue is focused on for the month with quotes from the saints everyday about practicing that particular virtue.

The site archive.org also has a copy of My Daily Bread, here is a link. You could send yourself an email reminder to read one chapter during your lunch hour.

Although it does not state which version of the Bible is being used I'm guessing that site you linked to is not using a truly Catholic bible so I would dump it.

You may need to socialize a little more , some time talking
with others will give you some fresh air for your thoughts.
I went through periods where i felt down when i was younger.
Then after knowing new people i changed for the better.

You could try printing off prayers or saints' quotes and posting them in prominent places. Try on the bathroom mirror, on the fridge, above or beside the computer screen and other places where your eyes fall frequently during the day. It doesn't have to be long, just a little something that lifts your mind to Him for a moment.

I think it is normal for most of us to need reminders. As we grow in love for God we will automatically turn to Him more often during the day. There are saints who converse with Him at all times but we aren't there yet. We have to start somewhere. :)

The more we ask for His help, the more God will give us the grace of always being aware of His presence, even if our minds aren't actively thinking of Him at every single moment. That's also why the Morning Offering is so important.
