  • How about limiting number of posts/replies per hour, so the most recently updated threads list isn't dominated to the tune of 80-100% by one user?

  • I'd like to see the Anonymous Forum eliminated.  People who have "sensitive" topics that "need" to be posted anonymously should discuss the issue with their priest.

  • I think it would be interesting if you are going to keep the "thumb down" on line, before anyone decides that avenue there should be a short place for them to insert why the thumb down was checked.

It would make for a more interesting and truthful action, including my own, I confess sometimes I have checked it just because I am upset.  Which is not good enough, too impulsive.

  • We're missing some smileys from the old version.  I was just looking for one now, and it's not there.  (One of those blue smiley faces.)

I miss the devil smiley.  It was appropriate for devil's advocate arguments.

Heck, even more smileys would be great.  Introduce some new ones.

Disagree on eliminating anonymous posts.  Sometimes people use them who don't want to be known.  A better idea is to have a separate, "Sensitive Issues" thread with an anonymous option.  People who don't have a priest to go to come here in search of advice.  The new thread should be age-restricted and monitored more closely for content.

This is the purpose of using screen names, Seraphina.

  • We should eliminate screen names and see how honest people become.  No mask to hide under  ;)

  • I find it absolutely obnoxious that the first time I hit "Preview" in a Reply, the software collapses all the spaces between paragraphs, making the post unreadable.  I have to go through and fix them all manually.  After I fix them, they stay there after hitting Preview or Reply.

I also liked the limit on the number of downthumbs or upthumbs people could give in the old forum.  Now people can go around stalking others and downthumbing every post of theirs.  Nado, LoT, and bosco do this to me, for instance.

People have ways of figuring out the identities of screen names.

I thought it was just me.  I've been submitting the posts and then immediately modifying them to add the space between paragraphs.

As for limits on downthumbs, I have reached limits on people (specifically poche for making irrelevant replies on a topic), so it appears there is still a limit on the number of downthumbs a person can give.  Perhaps there are just a lot of people who don't like some of your posts.

Not unless you provide personal information.  In any event, no one should post something to an internet forum that he would not otherwise say to people who know him "in real life".

Yes, this is a known problem and was reported to the person the posting module was purchased from (an upgrade to the default posting screen). But, he registered here and for whatever reason, still didn't think it was his module causing the problem. He said something along the lines of, "my site doesn't have that problem, so it must be something else." The problem also eliminates bullet points from a post... or fails to display them at least.
